Meal Services is now seeking two kitchen assistants who, together with colleagues, create dining joy for our guests. One position is full-time with hours divided between Östratorn School's kitchen and Flygel School's kitchen. The other position is part-time at Hedda Andersson Gymnasium's kitchen. About the role and your responsibilities As a kitchen assistant, you are an active part of meal preparation together with your colleagues. You contribute to the daily kitchen work and ensure that food, offerings, and service maintain high quality. Good customer service is a given, as is your contribution to a positive dining experience for guests in the school restaurant. Your responsibilities include preparation, cooking, special diets, dishwashing, and cleaning. You participate in quality and efficiency work together with coordinators and your work group. Together with colleagues, you handle orders and work in meal planning software. You are also responsible for ensuring that self-monitoring is conducted in accordance with food legislation and the Food Agency's regulations. As a kitchen assistant, you work actively and creatively to contribute to your workplace's and operation's development and goals. You represent the City of Lund in a professional manner by implementing and following the municipality's processes, guidelines, and policies in your work. About you We are looking for someone with at least two years of work experience in large-scale kitchens. Experience with meal planning software and previous work experience with guest interaction is considered a merit. In the role of kitchen assistant, you need to have good collaboration and communication skills and be service-oriented. You have a flexible approach and when changes occur, you have the ability to adapt and see new opportunities. You can organize, plan, and prioritize work efficiently. You must be able to communicate in Swedish in speech and writing, and good computer skills are required. About the workplace Meal Services encompasses 46 kitchens distributed across seven units and is responsible for preparing meals for preschools, primary schools, secondary schools, and elderly care. Approximately 20,000 portions are prepared daily by over 200 employees. The operation strives to offer good and nutritious food, promote healthy eating habits, and provide high-quality service. Östratorn School is a primary school with a cooking kitchen that prepares and serves approximately 500 portions. Flygel School is a primary school with a receiving kitchen that serves approximately 180 portions. The schools are located close to each other, only a couple of minutes' walk apart. Hedda Andersson is a gymnasium with a cooking kitchen that prepares and serves approximately 1,500 portions for the gymnasium's students and Svaneskolan's students. The Service Administration meets the needs of the City of Lund's other administrations and municipal companies for services. We have approximately 600 employees. Together we work to build and maintain the municipality's buildings, facilities, and housing, and ensure they are whole, clean, and functioning as they should. We prepare food for the municipality's children, young people, and elderly, we take care of green spaces around municipal buildings, and we maintain the municipality's vehicles and transportation.
