We are now seeking assistants for our food service operations. Our unit prepares meals for preschools, schools, and elderly care in Degerfors Municipality. In the municipality, food is a means to achieve good and equitable health. Meals shall be designed in such a way that they promote health and the environment, both in the long and short term. The focus is on creating a positive dining experience for each guest.
Job Duties
We are looking for someone who wants to work as a temporary worker and can work independently in a receiving kitchen or as part of a team in one of our receiving or production kitchens.
Kitchen Assistant:
The work tasks vary greatly depending on where you work and how large the kitchen is, but in all our kitchens we cook with care and the guest in focus. As a kitchen assistant, you are an important part of developing our salad buffet, welcoming our guests in the restaurant, and ensuring it is inviting. Tasks within dishwashing and cleaning may occur in our kitchens. Our production kitchens also distribute meals to other units, and accuracy is important in these processes.
Meal Services Assistant:
The work tasks vary depending on which preschool kitchen you are assigned to. Daily work involves serving lunch, snacks, and preparing breakfast for preschool children. Cleaning and dishwashing are part of the daily routine. Work in the food cost management system is included.
Working hours vary—Monday to Friday working hours are between 06:30–15:30, but we also have weekend work scheduled between 06:30–15:00. You will register your availability in Time Care Pool and are booked through that system. You may be booked with short notice, which is important for you to be prepared for.
As a temporary worker, you must be able to work across our entire operational area, which includes Degerfors and the locality of Åtorp.
QUALIFICATIONS
Qualifications
Minimum education requirement is upper secondary education in food service or other education that the employer deems equivalent.
You have a passion for cooking and service and take responsibility for completing the assignment well with the guest in focus.
You must be able to work both independently and in a group, be responsible and action-oriented, have good collaborative skills, and be able to give and receive instructions from other colleagues.
You must have good language skills, which means you must be able to speak, read, write, and understand Swedish. Basic computer skills are needed.
You also contribute to a good working environment at our workplaces.
Class B driver's license—a driver's license is needed to move between the different work locations, especially Åtorp School
Salary form: Hourly wage.
Employment type: Fixed-term employment.
Duration, start date: 2026-09-01.
Working hours: Daytime.
