Our goal is to provide participants with the knowledge and skills needed to work professionally in kitchens and restaurants. About the Position We are seeking an instructor for our culinary program for a 100% parental leave replacement position starting in February through June 11, 2027. You will teach and mentor participants in both practical and theoretical modules with a focus on cooking, ingredient knowledge, and kitchen skills. Your work includes planning, delivering, and following up on instruction, as well as supporting participants based on their different experiences, needs, and circumstances. You will help create a safe and inspiring learning environment where participants can practice, develop, and grow in their professional roles. You will work closely with a colleague specializing in baking. Together, you will plan and deliver a comprehensive, cohesive, and practically oriented program. You will also collaborate with other colleagues at the school and participate in the program's and school's collective work. With us, you will combine your expertise in food and cooking with the opportunity to inspire and develop others. You will be an important part of participants' journey toward a career in kitchens and restaurants. About You We are looking for someone with a completed, recognized culinary education or other training that the employer considers equivalent. You may also have acquired comparable knowledge through documented and relevant professional experience. Experience working in a professional kitchen is important, and experience in teaching, mentoring, or working with specialized diets is a plus. You have strong knowledge of cooking, ingredient handling, food safety, and kitchen procedures. We would like to see that you are also engaged in sustainable cooking, resource management, and how ingredients can be used to their best advantage. You enjoy sharing your knowledge and are motivated by seeing others develop. As a person, you are pedagogical, attentive, and flexible. You work well with others while also being able to work independently, take responsibility, and create structure in your instruction. You have a positive attitude and contribute to a safe, inclusive, and inspiring environment for both participants and colleagues. Personal suitability will be weighted heavily. Meritorious qualifications: Experience with sustainable cooking and organic/locally sourced ingredients Knowledge of apprenticeships (APL) and contacts with internship providers Previous teaching or supervisory experience Knowledge of specialized diets Region Blekinge employs all permanent staff through a staffing assignment model.
