Description Vilhelmina Folkets Hus is the natural meeting place in Vilhelmina for culture, conferences, food, and entertainment. It is an arena for inspiration, new ideas, connections, and experiences. Folkets Hus is in many ways a hub in the community and a place where associations, politics, schools, municipality, and civil society meet. The building houses a swimming hall, library, cinema/theater, lunch service, bowling hall, the high school's restaurant and food program, and various associations. About the Position Our head cook is on parental leave, and therefore we are seeking a temporary replacement during this period. The position is at 75-100% employment depending on the applicant's preference, with a duration of approximately 2 months with the possibility of extension. Job Duties As head cook, the role primarily involves preparing lunch buffets, but for events or bookings, à la carte cooking may also occur. Job duties as cook/kitchen assistant include: Cooking, raw vegetables/salads, serving, dishwashing. Responsibility for purchasing and menu planning. Cash handling, sales, cleaning. You will also participate in self-inspection work and maintain contact with staff and guests. Qualifications We are looking for someone with a 3-year restaurant and food service education or other education/experience that the employer deems equivalent. You have previously held a position involving meal preparation in a large kitchen or restaurant, have good knowledge of food hygiene and self-inspection, have good computer skills, and speak and write Swedish fluently. You have knowledge of both hot and cold kitchen work, raw materials, creating menus and complete meals, and have worked with special diets. As an applicant for this position, you are self-directed and confident in your professional role in the kitchen, have good planning ability, and can see the bigger picture of the task. You have great commitment that contributes to creating positive meal experiences for our guests.
