In Månsarp, just south of Jönköping, Månsarps Förskolan opened its modern facilities in the fall of 2022. Here we prepare approximately 130 servings of meals from scratch daily for our youngest guests. The preschool is characterized by a safe, warm, and welcoming environment where the children's wellbeing, development, and joy are at the center. Your Assignment As a chef at Månsarps Förskolan, you are responsible for planning, preparing, and serving nutritious and delicious meals of high quality. You work with a focus on sustainability, food safety, and culinary joy, and actively contribute to creating positive meal experiences for the children. We work with meal pedagogy, which means that mealtimes are an important part of children's learning. You therefore have a meaningful role in inspiring children's curiosity about food, health, and good eating habits. Examples of your tasks: Serve delicious and well-prepared meals to the kitchen's young guests. Prepare meals from scratch according to current guidelines for breakfast, lunch, and snacks. Create meals that are healthy, environmentally sustainable, and delicious for children and youth. Plan menus and order necessary supplies. Be a good ambassador for the kitchen, involving students in mealtimes. Integrate mealtimes into both children's and students' learning and development. Influence young people's eating habits and health for a healthy lifestyle. Work independently to prepare meals for the preschool. Other tasks that may occur in a kitchen. As an employee in Jönköpings Kommun's meal organization, you belong to a geographic area where several kitchens are included. You have a primary placement in one kitchen where you usually work. Your Qualifications We are looking for someone with a strong interest in cooking and a passion for working with high-quality, sustainable ingredients. The food should be both delicious and nutritious, with a focus on quality and sustainability. We value that you have experience preparing meals from scratch and adapting meals for children's specific needs. As a person, you are a committed team player who enjoys working together with both educators and kitchen staff to create a safe and inspiring meal environment for the children. You enjoy sharing your knowledge and work enthusiasm and contribute to a positive and collaborative work climate. We are also looking for someone who finds it easy to follow established guidelines and procedures, while having a commitment to help develop the operation. Merits include experience from large-scale kitchens or restaurants. Good command of Swedish language, both spoken and written. Basic IT skills. Driver's license category B.
