The Food Services Unit is part of the Community Development Administration. The Food Services Unit employs well-educated and dedicated staff who work to serve good, nutritious and varied meals to the municipality's primary schools, preschools, elderly care and care units, as well as the upper secondary school. In total, we are approximately 125 employees. A meal has multiple purposes; it should meet our needs for nutrition and enjoyment, but the social interaction around the meal is also important. The Food Services Unit works to ensure that meals are of high quality, varied, and that guests receive friendly service and can eat in a pleasant environment. The Food Services Unit operates 6 preparation kitchens and 14 serving kitchens at schools and 17 preparation kitchens and 8 serving kitchens at preschools. In elderly care, there are 2 preparation kitchens. Description We are seeking a cook for the kitchen at Halleberg who is passionate about cooking and meal service in preschool. Duties Goals to Work Toward The Food Services Unit works to ensure that meals are of high quality, varied, and that guests receive friendly service. Meet our customers' requirements and wishes for contracted services. Our target groups are elderly care, schools, and preschools. We work to ensure that meals are safe, sustainable, and climate-smart. Duties Included in the Position You will work independently in the kitchen and are therefore active in all aspects of kitchen work. In your daily work, you should help ensure that guidelines are followed and set goals are achieved. Preparation and serving of meals, standard diet as well as individually adapted meals. Responsibility for production and procurement planning Receiving goods, dishwashing, and cleaning Performing and documenting the unit's self-inspection Documenting number of diners and food waste in digital systems Work in the meal planning system Mateo Qualifications You must have completed a restaurant and food service program at upper secondary school or equivalent adult education. Alternatively, you must have completed a validation (or journeyman's certificate) that can verify knowledge equivalent to the above. You must have good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written, as well as computer skills. Knowledge of special diets is an advantage. Work Experience Needed for the Position Experience as a cook in large-scale kitchens Information Before employment as a cook, a criminal record check is required under the Education Act (2010:800). You request a criminal record check on polisen.se, which is then shown before employment. Administrative staff, cleaning staff, school custodians, and kitchen staff must also show a criminal record check before employment. This is a permanent position (temporary during vacation periods) with work scheduled during daytime hours, Monday to Friday. A succession position may become relevant. Start date September 1, 2026, or by agreement. Questions about the position will not be answered during weeks 28-30 due to vacation.
