Then we might be looking for you to join the primary school administration, Central Area meal 1A. Central Area Meal 1A comprises five schools in Härlanda/Örgryte. Currently, this position is located at Torpaskolan (Billerudsgatan 1), but as an employee you belong to Central Area Meal 1A, which means employees may need to work at other schools in this area depending on operational needs. Work is performed daytime Monday to Friday 07:00-15:30. The position is full-time and permanent. Responsibilities As a cook, you and your colleagues are responsible for daily kitchen operations. You ensure our guests receive nutritious and delicious food while providing them with a positive dining experience. The work includes preparing and serving excellent meals, preparing special diets, salad buffet, dishwashing, self-inspection, and keeping the kitchen and school cafeteria clean and tidy. You will be part of a team both at the school and in the Central Area where we collaborate and help each other with tasks. We practice rotation in the workplace, which means everyone on the team performs kitchen tasks and dining hall tasks. Daily you meet our wonderful students in the school cafeteria, so we place great emphasis on your ability to engage students and spark their interest and joy in food. In the Central Area, all kitchens work as a unified group, which means we support and help each other by working at a different location when needed. You will take personal responsibility in engaging work, meet many people, build relationships, and gain valuable experience. Qualifications We are looking for someone who: • has a chef education or other training/experience that the employer considers equivalent. • has experience from large-scale kitchens and/or restaurants. • has good cooking skills. • has experience with self-inspection. • has experience working with computers. As a person, you have strong commitment to your work and are passionate about ensuring our students have a good dining experience. You are service-minded with good customer care skills and strive to deliver solutions for our guests. You contribute to high efficiency in the kitchen and handle and prepare raw materials professionally. You are unpretentious, creative, and receptive, with excellent ability to collaborate with colleagues. Furthermore, you are flexible and can adapt how you work when things change. You can quickly shift your perspective and approach and see opportunities in change. You take initiative and ensure work progresses, with an eye for which tasks need priority at any given time. You plan your day, work systematically, and use time efficiently. In the kitchen we always work according to guests' needs and food must be ready when students arrive, so it's important that you can work efficiently in a pressured environment while balancing multiple tasks and maintaining calm and a positive attitude.
