We are now looking for a chef at Björkhem and Gideåskolan! Could you be the one we're looking for? The work is divided between Björkhem's kitchen and Gideåskolan's reception kitchen. In Björkhem's kitchen, meals are prepared and distributed to schools, preschools, and care facilities. In Gideåskolan's dining hall, meals are served to students from preschool class, which consists of three departments through grade 6. For us, food enjoyment is about preparing delicious and varied meals that give our guests a positive, nutritious, and flavorful dining experience. We work with sustainability by highlighting seasonal vegetables, locally produced and organic meals as part of reducing our climate impact. This is a permanent position with an estimated start date of October 5, 2026 or by agreement. Working hours are daytime with rotating schedules and weekend shifts. Duties Preparations and kitchen work throughout the day. Preparation of meals, special diets, and texture-adapted foods. Preparation of root vegetables, vegetables, salads, etc. Line serving and guest interaction in the dining hall. Dishing, cleaning, laundry, and other daily kitchen tasks. Following hygiene routines according to established procedures. Working in our digital nutrition data system. Ordering, receiving, and handling goods. Through our way of working, we help each other and cover for one another, which means you may work in and support our other kitchens as needed. Qualifications Chef training. Experience working in a kitchen – preparing meals, special diets, and textures in a large-scale kitchen is desirable. Basic knowledge of Swedish in speaking, writing, and reading comprehension, which we consider important for communication, safety, and instructions. Responsible, flexible, and service-oriented. Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team. Basic computer skills and interest in working with nutrition data programs. We would appreciate it if you have a B-class driver's license and access to your own car, as the position may involve working in other kitchens when needed. However, this is not a requirement. Currently, there is an opportunity for a zone allowance of up to 3,000 kr on your monthly salary based on set criteria related to position size, schedule, and distance between home address and workplace.
