Who are we?
We are the family-run, popular vineyard where Swedish 1960s meets American countryside. In a lovely rural setting outside Fjärås you'll find this charming destination for the whole family! In our Café, Restaurant & Bar we offer homemade baked goods, our own soft serve ice cream & food made from scratch using local ingredients in a charming retro style. Here, Grandmother's cake recipes coexist with Smash Burgers, Craft Pizza and lots of other delicious offerings from both our Halland food traditions and American Diner culture. Here you can enjoy locally produced beverages, wine from our partner vineyards across Europe, and in the near future also our own produced wine! Outside the winery you can check out Roland's beautiful cars and the children can play! We also have a small farm shop, host conferences, weddings and other bookings outside regular opening hours.
In the kitchen we work with local ingredients and products from artisan producers in the area. We make everything we can from scratch. We take pride in our craft and want every dish that leaves the kitchen to taste fantastic, look appealing and give our guests that little extra to their experience! We work as a team, and everyone meets our guests with a smile and a helping hand, from dishwasher to chef!
Who are you?
You are passionate about the guest experience and working as a team with your colleagues in the kitchen and dining area towards this common goal! You have an eye for keeping things clean and fresh, making guests feel seen, ensuring colleagues enjoy their work, and you like to juggle many things at once!
You are responsible and genuine, and you're not afraid to jump in with dishwashing and cleaning when needed! For you it's obvious to follow daily and weekly cleaning routines in the kitchen and you help take responsibility for making sure everything gets done and that we help each other to reduce food waste and make it easier for your colleague coming after you!
You have an interest in food and quality ingredients but are unpretentious in your approach! You also think it's fun to work based on our theme: Swedish Retro style meets American Diner! Being able to serve "simple food" like pizza and burgers, but doing it in a unique "next level" way suits you well! You also enjoy taking on our diner specials with plated dishes requiring more prep work, themed evenings, wedding dinners and similar. You can imagine helping with prep for the Café when needed (baking according to clear recipes with guidance from our Baker & Chocolatier).
We believe you have a few years of kitchen experience and feel comfortable occasionally (during quieter shifts) being alone in our small efficient kitchen, prepping various components (from mayo to chopping vegetables, slow-cooking meat, baking bread etc), setting up your station(s) for service, writing down what needs to be ordered and then preparing and serving food à la carte based on tickets. And of course then washing up and cleaning the kitchen, taking out the trash etc.
You enjoy working evenings and weekends (our main opening hours are Thursday-Sunday initially. [Thursday & Friday 4pm-late, Saturday 12pm-late (an early and late shift that can rotate on the schedule) and Sunday daytime 12-6pm].
Next year we expect to expand to all days of the week during high season and working hours may then become more varied.
You have a driver's license and access to a car, or alternatively you live nearby, or otherwise have an easy way to get to and from The Vineyard.
