JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Are you a flexible and dedicated chef who wants to work with public meals? We are now looking to strengthen our existing team with pool chefs and are seeking an additional team member. As a pool chef, you have the opportunity for full-time employment with additional compensation for your flexibility. Ljungby Municipality covers a large geographic area and our kitchens are located where operations take place. As a pool chef, you will be assigned to and work from a primary kitchen. The kitchen is organized under the Food Services Department at the Technical Administration, where your immediate manager is also located. The Food Services Department oversees 30 kitchens, and most have their own food preparation facilities. The Municipality aims to prepare climate-smart meals from scratch, using quality ingredients and committed staff. We work closely with our clients with short lead times and need to be flexible with a positive approach. Employment is within the Food Services Department and placement may change based on operational needs. As a pool chef, your main responsibilities include food preparation, ordering, quality control, and certain documentation. QUALIFICATIONS For this position, a culinary education from a three-year upper secondary school hotel and restaurant program or equivalent education or experience as assessed by the employer is required. You also need good knowledge of special diets, food safety, and basic computer skills. The position requires good collaboration and service skills, the ability to communicate verbally and in writing, and an interest in development work in food services. A genuine interest in working with children and the elderly is essential. If you also have pedagogical interest or experience in pedagogical kitchen work, that is a merit. Great emphasis will be placed on personal qualities, verified collaboration skills, and education. Positions within the Food Services Department require a police clearance certificate upon employment offer, in accordance with the law on background checks in preschool, school, and childcare activities (SFS 2000:873).
