In the school kitchen, we also prepare meals for approximately 50 children at Edsbro Preschool. The meals are packed and picked up at the school for further transport to the preschool's distribution kitchen. You take responsibility for the entire workflow in the kitchen and collaborate with the school's staff, the preschool, and the municipality's meal organization. The assignment includes, among other things: • preparing, cooking, and serving school meals • cooking and packing meals for Edsbro Preschool • preparing and handling special diets safely • ordering and receiving goods • working with self-inspection and following applicable hygiene routines • responsibility for dishwashing, cleaning, and order in the kitchen • planning work and actively working to reduce food waste • contributing to a pleasant meal environment and good treatment of students Challenges and Opportunities The assignment requires that you can plan and prioritize your work so that meals function well for both the school and preschool. You need to be able to meet different needs, handle special diets safely, and maintain consistent high quality. As a cook, you'll have the opportunity to influence the working methods in the kitchen, contribute ideas, and develop meals together with the organizations. At our small school, you'll have close contact with students and colleagues and see directly how good food and good treatment matter during the school day. What You Need to Bring Requirements • Cook training or other education and experience that the employer considers equivalent • Good knowledge of food hygiene, self-inspection, special diets, and allergens • Ability to express yourself in Swedish, both spoken and written, since the work requires you to follow instructions, document, and communicate about, among other things, special diets Meritorious • Experience working in school, preschool, or large-scale kitchens • Experience with ordering, goods receipt, and working in digital management systems • Experience with sustainable meals and work to reduce food waste To thrive in this role, you need to be responsible, organized, and able to plan your work independently. Employment Type, Scope, and Start Date Employment Type: Permanent Scope: Full-time Start Date: By agreement For this role, the starting salary is normally between 30,000 – 34,000 kr depending on experience and competence.
