CLINICAL PSYCHOLOGIST.
Project Objective:
The project aims to provide children with behavioral and addiction problems, as well as their families, with individually tailored, comprehensive support based on collaboration among various specialists. This enables families to receive the necessary assistance in a timely and coordinated manner in one location.
Service provision period from November 2026 to August 2029.
Main Responsibilities:
Support Service:
Provides assessment of the child's psychological functioning, delivery of psychological support, and methodological contribution to the implementation of the Support Plan. The clinical psychologist's work is aimed at strengthening the child's emotional stability, self-regulation, and developmental potential, taking into account the child's best interests and the established methodological framework. Psychological support is also provided to the attachment figure.
Accommodation Service:
Provides assessment, monitoring, and delivery of psychological support for the youth's psychological functioning, as well as methodological contribution to the implementation of the Support Plan. The clinical psychologist's work is aimed at strengthening the youth's emotional stability, emotion and behavior self-regulation, and developmental potential, taking into account the child's best interests and the established methodological framework.
Social Assistance Service:
Becomes familiar with and analyzes information from the Multidisciplinary Assessment service, provides support and consultations in accordance with the Support Plan developed by the Multidisciplinary Assessment service. Participates in the interdisciplinary team's mid-term evaluation of Support Plan implementation (after 6 months) and makes changes to the Support Plan if necessary. Based on mid-term evaluation results, prepares recommendations and participates in the final progress assessment of the child and attachment figure.
Following the completion of the Social Assistance service, prepares and submits recommendations to the Social Assistance social worker, and familiarizes the child and attachment figure with them. Attends team supervision (1× per month), participates in team meetings (1× per month or more frequently if necessary), and engages in professional development activities. If necessary, ensures information exchange with collaboration partners. Complies with ethics, data protection, and confidentiality principles in work.
Requirements:
- Second cycle higher education in psychology.
- Professional qualification as a psychologist and registration in the Psychologists Register in accordance with the legal acts of the Republic of Latvia.
- Professional qualification in clinical psychology.
- Additional professional training or at least 2 years of practical experience working with children/youth with social functioning or emotional self-regulation difficulties, as well as risk of addiction development.
- Knowledge of child and adolescent developmental psychology, emotional and behavioral regulation mechanisms.
- Understanding of the impact of trauma on the child's psychological functioning and behavior.
- Competence in psychological assessment, observation, and professional conclusion formulation.
- Ability to analyze child process dynamics and provide methodologically grounded recommendations for support delivery.
- Ability to act professionally in high-risk situations, respecting the boundaries of one's competence and collaborating with other specialists.
Project Implementation Location:
Daugavpils State City Municipality Institution "Social Service" in cooperation with the foundation "Latvijas Bērnu atbalsta fonds" and the association "Resiliences centrs".
Compensation: 50 eiro/consultation
