About the Position We are seeking a person to work on a project in tissue engineering involving human bone and bone marrow. The work will encompass specific cell culture and laboratory tasks as well as bioinformatic analysis (scRNA and ATACseq). The goal is to understand bone and bone marrow formation processes in the laboratory at the cellular and molecular level. The project will be conducted within the Cell, Tissue and Organ Engineering group, led by Doctor Paul Bourgine. Bone is a complex organ that provides structural and mechanical support to our body while also serving as our primary hematopoietic center. Bone formation involves various stages, including cartilage, vascular system, bone, and bone marrow formation. The Bourgine laboratory aims to compile human-specific knowledge about these processes to develop innovative therapies. Within the research group, we value a good work environment based on respect and consideration in our relationships with one another. We continuously work to create conditions for job satisfaction, development, and participation for all employees. Responsibilities As a clinical assistant, you will work with experimental work and bioinformatic analysis, compilation of results for publication. The position further includes engineering and bioinformatic analysis of engineered human tissues, cultivation and characterization of cartilage and bone tissue, assessment of tissue remodeling in vitro and in vivo, cellular and molecular analyses, and multiomics analysis (scRNA and ATACseq). Qualifications Required for Employment - Master's degree in Bioinformatics or equivalent - Admitted to the doctoral program in Medical Science - Course in flow cytometry - Course in animal experiments - Course in confocal microscopy - Analysis of single-cell/nucleus RNAseq data (Seurat and Scanpy) and ATAC-seq - Analysis of bulk RNA-sequencing data (DESeq2) - Programming in R, Python, SQL, and bash - 3D tissue engineering Meritorious - Education in skeletal biology - Experience with long non-coding RNA studies - Experience with quantitative confocal microscopy Other Information This is a limited-term employment as a clinical assistant at 100%, between 1/10 2026 - 30/09 2027. How to Apply The position is advertised through the university's recruitment system. Your application should include a cover letter explaining why you are interested in this position and how the position matches your qualifications.
