The Environmental Strategy Unit The Environmental Strategy Unit is one of five units in the County Administrative Board's environmental department. We work together on environmental issues from a regional, strategic perspective. Part of our mission is to coordinate and lead the implementation of national energy and climate policy at the regional level. We also work with the County Administrative Board's environmental goals mandate, water management, review of hydropower and water-strategic work in the county, as well as the County Administrative Board's environmental monitoring work. We also handle state support for climate investments (Climate Leap), local nature conservation initiatives (LONA), and local water conservation projects (LOVA). Work Tasks We are now looking for you to work together with colleagues on issues that are central to the county's climate transition. Your mission will include working with the state investment support program Climate Leap, developing projects and collaboration models for reduced greenhouse gas emissions, and contributing to the implementation of the county's climate and energy strategy into concrete work. The work often takes place in project form and in dialogue with multiple stakeholders. The work tasks may include: work with Climate Leap, including case processing, follow-up, and communication work project planning, implementation, follow-up, and reporting of activities and measures related to the environmental goal Limited Climate Impact, such as projects related to carbon sequestration in soil, circular economy, etc. monitoring the external environment within the climate area in order to propose and form new initiatives and projects, internal skills development, etc. driving and coordinating networks within relevant work areas to promote experience sharing and collaboration within the climate area among county stakeholders providing input and responding to requests related to your expertise. The role encompasses varied work tasks and is suitable for you if you enjoy collaboration, both internally and externally, while being comfortable with independently analyzing information, conducting case processing, and writing statements. The work is qualified and you will continuously develop new knowledge both broadly and in depth. In this assignment, you have great opportunities to contribute to the development of the field, and it is important that you enjoy formulating problem statements when the answer is not always given. The position may also include work with other tasks within the unit's operational area. Qualifications We are looking for someone who has: Education in environmental science, natural science, or spatial planning at university level, or other education/experience that we assess as equivalent for the position. At least 3 years of experience working with issues relevant to the position. It is meritorious to have: experience working within the public sector experience working with and/or expertise in climate issues related to LULUCF experience working with and/or expertise in issues related to resource use and circular economy experience developing and planning project work that involves contact with many different types of organizations. As a person, you should be self-directed and have a structured way of working. You should also be able to adapt to changed circumstances. You have a strong interest in society, and since the work tasks involve collaboration both internally and externally, you need to have good collaborative skills and good communicative ability in Swedish, both in writing and verbally. You represent the County Administrative Board in a trustworthy manner. We place great emphasis on your personal qualities. Terms The employment is permanent and begins with a six-month probationary period with start date by agreement. Your job title at the authority will be case officer.
