Racklöfska skolan is located in the center of Järpen in Åre kommun, Jämtland County. The school has approximately 150 students from preschool class through grade 6. The school is directly adjacent to excellent cross-country ski trails, an ice rink, swimming pool, and sports hall. The municipal library is within walking distance of the school. The school's location is ideal for educational activities with proximity to sports, nature, and culture. The schoolyard offers excellent opportunities for activities including street basketball, climbing structures, swings, a small forest area, a sports arena with artificial grass, sledding hill, grill area, and a large soccer field. The school is directly connected to "Verket" - an activity area with cycling and skateparks. Several outdoor days are spent on our nearby mountains. The school is organized into three work teams: F-3, 4-6, and after-school care. At Racklöfska skolan, we work to ensure everyone feels good, both students and staff. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Job Responsibilities As a class mentor at Racklöfska skolan, you become an important part of our work creating a safe, positive, and developmentally supportive school environment. We work from a clear division of responsibilities between the class mentor and teaching staff, where the class mentor focuses on the group's and students' psychosocial development, while the teacher has clear responsibility for planning, teaching, and assessment in their subjects. However, you are a significant part of the school's resource allocation and you support all teaching. As a class mentor, you have a comprehensive view of your class and are responsible for the group's development and students' relationship to school as a whole. You build good relationships with students, create a positive climate in the group, and support students in their social development. You act as a coach and support for students who need extra motivation or support in their school situation and help resolve conflicts and create good relationships between students. For some students, you have special resource responsibility. You are responsible for creating structure and clarity in students' school days and maintain close dialogue with students and guardians regarding their general school situation and psychosocial issues. You monitor student attendance and have special responsibility for students with unexcused absences. You collaborate closely with teaching staff, student support teams, after-school care, and other professionals to create a comprehensive approach around each student. An important part of the work is identifying students who need extra support and contributing with the student support team and teaching staff in mapping work and intervention programs. You therefore need to be able to see the whole student and understand how social, emotional, and pedagogical factors can affect their school situation. As a class mentor, you also handle weekly planning, communication with students and guardians, and planning and implementation of matters related to the class as a whole, such as special events and outdoor days. When teachers are absent, you occasionally step in as a substitute. We work according to the Rackis model, which provides a shared structure and clarity in students' school days. You become an important carrier of this structure and work together with colleagues to create a safe and predictable learning environment. QUALIFICATIONS Qualifications We seek someone with work and life experience who wants to be a safe and positive role model for students. You have clear and positive leadership and a very strong ability to create trusting relationships with children and young people. You are attentive, engaged, and respectful in interactions with students, guardians, and colleagues. You can easily see the whole picture around a student while setting clear boundaries and creating structure and security in the group. You are skilled at motivating students, identifying their needs, and helping them develop both socially and personally. To thrive in this role, you need to be organized with good ability to plan, prioritize, and communicate. You express yourself well in speech and writing and easily collaborate with various professionals around students' best interests. We value flexibility, initiative, and willingness to develop.
