Chemical Coordinator, Temporary Position Would you like to work at one of the world's most advanced smelters and contribute to a safe and sustainable work environment? As a Chemical Coordinator at Boliden Rönnskär, you'll have an exciting opportunity to work close to operations and help develop working methods and processes within chemical management. This is a temporary position starting as early as September 1st through February 28, 2027, with the possibility of extension. Your Role As a Chemical Coordinator, you'll be part of the occupational health, quality/operations development, and safety section. You're responsible for supporting operations with chemical matters related to the environment and occupational health, and ensuring that work is conducted in accordance with applicable legislation and internal requirements. The role involves close collaboration with operations where you work both operatively in the field and contribute to the development of procedures and working methods. You're an important support in strengthening safety culture and driving improvements in chemical management. Working hours are daytime, Monday through Friday. Your Team You'll be part of an engaged team with a strong team culture where knowledge sharing and collaboration are in focus. Within the department, there is broad expertise in occupational health, safety, and quality, which provides excellent opportunities for learning and development. The role involves many contact points throughout the entire operation. Your Responsibilities Support operations in chemical matters related to the environment and occupational health Ensure compliance with legislation and internal requirements Work with chemical management systems and documentation Review and approve chemicals before purchase Assist in preparing safety data sheets Contribute to risk assessments and improvement measures Train and guide the organization on chemical-related matters Participate in the development of procedures and processes Reporting internally and externally within the area of expertise Your Contribution To succeed in this role, you're structured, thorough, and have a strong focus on safety. You enjoy working close to operations and have good pedagogical skills that enable you to explain complex issues in a clear and engaging way. You take initiative, drive your work forward, and actively contribute to the team's joint development. We're looking for someone who has: University education in chemistry, environmental chemistry, or similar, plus several years of professional experience in the field. Alternatively, an occupational health engineer degree with experience in similar work. Practical experience working with chemical matters related to environmental and occupational health in an operational setting. Category B driving license. Meriting qualifications include knowledge of: Chemical management systems and safety data sheets. Chemical legislation. The Classification, Labelling and Packaging (CLP) Regulation.
