We are developing our processes, systems, and working methods, moving toward more data-driven and category-driven procurement that strengthens both business value and sustainability. As Category Lead for Vehicles, Logistics, and Chemicals, you take a comprehensive approach to one of our most business-critical categories. You drive the business from needs analysis and market dialogue to procurement, contracts, and measurable impact. Together with cross-functional teams, you create stable and sustainable solutions that contribute to our goals, not least our journey toward net zero. You use data and market insights to make informed decisions, build strong business relationships, and ensure that our procurement complies with LUF and, where relevant, LOU. This means you secure deals that both stand the test of time and make a difference here and now – for the business, our customers, and the society we operate in. Your Main Responsibilities Lead cross-functional category teams and together drive work from needs analysis to realized impact. Ensure clear requirements specification and reliable follow-up related to environment, occupational health and safety, and safe handling. Own and develop category and sourcing strategies based on market knowledge, risk awareness, sustainability, and sound business decisions. Conduct procurements for vehicle fleet, logistics solutions, and chemicals with a holistic perspective where TCO, life cycle analysis, and sustainability carry significant weight. Negotiate and sign contracts that create security, stability, and long-term value, and ensure that governance and follow-up function so that results are truly achieved. Work data-driven and monitor costs, risks, quality, and results to continuously develop the category and contribute to Mälarenergi's journey toward net zero. We are Looking for You We are looking for someone with the ability to translate data, market insights, and risk assessments into thoughtful and sustainable decisions in an operation where both safety and social benefit are in focus. You have experience with strategic procurement and preferably a background in vehicles, logistics, industrial flows, technical products, or other related areas where business acumen and sustainability go hand in hand. You are experienced in driving cross-functional processes from early needs and requirements analysis to strategy, procurement, contracts, and followed-up impact. You understand public governance and regulations and feel comfortable in an environment where order and transparency are important parts of the business, even if this doesn't need to be your main expertise. In negotiations, you are analytical and clear, and you have the ability to create solutions that work both today and going forward. Through structured contract and delivery follow-up, you drive quality, efficiency, and sustainability – with a working approach that builds trust and collaboration. Working data-driven comes naturally to you. You use analyses in Excel and BI tools to identify patterns, risks, and opportunities and to provide the business with well-founded recommendations. You express yourself clearly and professionally in Swedish and English, both verbally and in writing. An academic degree is a merit, but we value solid and relevant experience just as highly. We are seven category leaders, three tactical buyers, and one procurement controller who together function as an important support function and drive the development of procurement work forward. Our shared mandate is to ensure that the Mälarenergi Group complies with applicable procurement legislation and works with efficient, sustainable, and business-sound solutions. For the vehicle area, close collaboration occurs between procurement and the business's fleet manager on matters concerning strategy, contracts, and development.
