We work to create excellent conditions for learning, research and knowledge development by offering qualified support to our users. Together, the University Library has nearly 50 employees, including student staff, distributed across four operational areas: Research and Publishing Support, Student Support, Media Provision and IT, and the University Pedagogy Unit. The library operations at the Music Academy Ingesund in Arvika are also part of the organization. The University Library is in an exciting phase of development where knowledge, digitalization and pedagogy converge. Our activities are characterized by openness to new forms of digital information management, pedagogical development and scientific communication, as well as strong responsiveness to students, teachers, researchers and the surrounding community. We are now seeking a Library Director who wants to lead and develop the University Library. We offer a qualified and developmentally rich leadership position where you will have the opportunity to lead a committed operation and contribute strategically to the university's development. With us, education, research, pedagogy and collaboration meet, and you will have a central role in creating the conditions for this. Responsibilities As Library Director, you will be part of the central support's management group and have an important strategic role in the university's continued development. You are responsible for leading and developing the University Library in line with the university's goals and strategies and for creating the best possible conditions for the operation. The activities are conducted in dialogue with staff as well as with the university's faculties and leadership. In your role as Library Director, you are also expected to build and maintain external relationships at regional, national and international levels. Qualifications We seek someone with an academic degree in Library and Information Science or equivalent. You have experience in leadership roles within library and educational activities and good knowledge and experience of higher education and research. As Library Director, you are a confident and communicative leader who creates engagement and trust, promotes participation and provides staff with good opportunities for development. You are present in your leadership and actively participate in the operations and shared work environment. You value close dialogue and relationships with both staff and the university at large. You are responsive and creative with strong collaboration skills. Knowledge of and interest in digital development are essential. You express yourself well in Swedish and English, both orally and in writing. We place great importance on personal qualities. We would like to see that you have experience leading higher education pedagogical activities. Terms The position is a permanent full-time employment with a start date to be agreed.
