The State Employment Agency (hereinafter referred to as the Agency) announces a competition for a vacant position - Career Consultant at the Cēsis branch Cēsis Client Service Center (1 position, 1 full-time equivalent for a fixed period of up to 1.5 years) Objective of the vacant position: To provide career counseling to clients, ensure informational and methodological support in the job search process and professional development, provide support to employers in selecting appropriate employees. To organize the participation of unemployed persons and job seekers in active employment measures and preventive unemployment reduction measures. Requirements for the candidate: Bachelor's or second-level professional higher education: obtained or obtaining (second-year student) a professional Master's degree in education science with a qualification - career consultant or a professional Master's degree in human resources management or psychology; one year of experience in career counseling or two years of experience in client counseling (in resolving social and/or employment issues), if the candidate has obtained a Bachelor's degree in pedagogy or social work; one year of experience in career counseling is desirable if the candidate has obtained a Bachelor's degree in psychology or a professional Master's degree in education science with a qualification in career consulting or human resources management, or is currently a second-year student in these Master's programs; work experience in career counseling of at least five years, if the candidate has obtained a Bachelor's or second-level professional higher education, except for those who have obtained or are obtaining (second-year student) a professional Master's degree in education science with a qualification in career consulting or a professional Master's degree in human resources management, excluding Bachelor's graduates in psychology, pedagogy, or social work; work experience in employment and/or personnel selection is desirable; knowledge of regulatory acts in force in the Republic of Latvia within the scope of the position's competencies; counseling skills; knowledge of the personnel selection process; communication, presentation, planning, control, and analytical skills; ability to assess facts, anticipate and mitigate risks; english language skills for communication with clients of other nationalities are desirable; computer skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and ability to work with office equipment; a valid e-signature tool is required to perform the duties of the position. Main duties of the position: provide individual and group career counseling sessions in accordance with client preferences and counseling objectives, organized by thematic category; identify and provide counseling to target groups of clients (long-term unemployed, persons returning from parental leave, young people, persons with special needs, clients aged 50+, persons after serving sentences in detention facilities, persons currently serving sentences in detention facilities, etc.); taking into account the client's needs (including using profiling methods for unemployed persons) and suggestions, determine measures to be included in the Individual Job Search Plan or Job Seeker Card that would promote the client's return to the labor market; plan client participation and ensure the fulfillment of the results indicators for career counseling sessions approved by the Agency; organize and conduct appropriate candidate selection for filling vacant positions upon request from employers. The candidate evaluation commission will not evaluate applications that do not have the documents specified in the advertisement attached. We will contact those candidates who are selected for the second round of personnel selection. The selection competition will take place in three rounds: First round - evaluation of candidates' education and work experience based on submitted documents. Second round - practical tasks, based on the results of which the candidate's professional knowledge will be assessed. Third round - interview, during which the candidate's knowledge and competencies will be assessed in accordance with the requirements set for the position. Candidates who receive the highest number of points in the practical tasks will be invited to the interview. The Agency requests that candidates, when applying to participate in the selection competition, do not provide additional data, including special category personal data, that are not necessary to assess the candidate's suitability for the specific vacancy.
