The State Employment Agency (hereinafter - the Agency) announces a competition for a vacant position - Career Consultant at the Jūrmala Customer Service Center of the Jūrmala Branch (1 position, 1 full-time, indefinite term) Position Objective: to advise clients on career choice, provide informational and methodological support in the job search process and professional development, provide support to employers in selecting appropriate employees. Organize the participation of unemployed persons and job seekers in active employment measures and preventive unemployment reduction measures. Requirements for Candidates: Bachelor's or second-level professional higher education: obtained or obtaining (second-year student) a professional Master's degree in Education Science with the qualification - Career Consultant or a professional Master's degree in Human Resources Management or Psychology; one year of experience in career counseling or two years of experience in client counseling (in resolving social and/or employment issues), if a Bachelor's degree in Pedagogy or Social Work has been obtained; one year of experience in career counseling is desirable, if a Bachelor's degree in Psychology has been obtained or a professional Master's degree in Education Science with the qualification Career Consultant or a professional Master's degree in Human Resources Management has been obtained, or if currently enrolled as a second-year student in the aforementioned Master's programs; work experience in career counseling of at least five years, if a Bachelor's degree or second-level professional higher education has been obtained, except for those who have obtained or are obtaining (second-year student) a professional Master's degree in Education Science with the qualification Career Consultant or a professional Master's degree in Human Resources Management with a Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Pedagogy, or Social Work; work experience in the field of employment and/or personnel selection is desirable; knowledge of applicable normative acts of the Republic of Latvia within the scope of the position's competence; client orientation; counseling skills; knowledge of the personnel selection process; communication, planning, control, and analytical skills; computer skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and ability to work with office equipment; e-signature tool is required for the performance of duties. Main Duties: provide individual and group career consultations in accordance with thematic divisions, based on clients' wishes and consultation objectives; identify and provide counseling to target groups of clients (long-term unemployed, persons returning from parental leave, youth, persons with special needs, clients aged 50 plus, persons after serving a custodial sentence, persons serving a custodial sentence, etc.); considering the client's needs (including the use of profiling methods for the unemployed) and suggestions, in compliance with the client's eligibility for service receipt, determine the measures to be included in the Individual Job Search Plan or Job Seeker Card that would facilitate the client's return to the labor market; plan client participation and ensure the achievement of result indicators for career consultations approved by the Agency; organize and conduct appropriate selection of candidates to fill vacant positions at the request of employers. We will contact the candidates who are selected for the second stage of personnel selection. The selection competition will take place in three stages: First stage - evaluation of candidates' education and work experience based on submitted documents. Second stage – practical assignments, the results of which will assess the candidate's professional knowledge. Third stage - interview, during which the candidate's knowledge and competencies will be evaluated in accordance with the requirements set for the position. Candidates who achieve a specified number of points in the test - practical assignment will be invited to the interview. The Agency requests that candidates participating in the selection competition not provide additional data, including special category personal data, that are not necessary to evaluate the candidate's suitability for the specific vacancy. If a candidate submits personal data that is not necessary within the selection process, it is considered that the candidate has consented to the processing of such personal data.
