To the unit School-Based Support and Development, we are now seeking a Capacity Developer who will be a key person in coordinating the administration's pedagogical and didactic support to schools. In your role as a capacity developer, you will provide schools with comprehensive support and challenge in their own capacity building. You have a coordinating role and are responsible for planning, implementing, and following up on initiatives.
The department is currently developing a model to achieve more cohesive management of school-based support and ensure adequate support to schools facing particular challenges. The capacity developers will play an important role in coordinating this support. The role also includes participating in quality dialogues held between the principal authority and school principals.
Capacity development should contribute to generating sustainable systematicity in schools' development work.
You will be based in the Leadership and Organization section. As a capacity developer, you will be part of a working group with other capacity developers, and your role includes sharing knowledge and insights in collaborative learning to best support schools.
We expect you to keep up to date with current research in your field and with success factors for school development.
Qualifications
You have an academic education of at least 180 credits. The position requires extensive experience leading others and proven results from working with school development processes. Experience as a principal and leading development work within schools that promotes collective and collegial learning and has resulted in good outcomes for students is a merit. Having completed the national principal training program and other leadership or process management training is considered a merit.
You need good knowledge of systematic quality work based on school legislation, curriculum, and other school regulations, as well as broad competence in various aspects of elementary schools. As a capacity developer, you have experience and familiarity with process-oriented work and good process management skills. The position requires excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
About the Workplace
The Leadership and Organization section is organizationally located within the Elementary School Administration's unit School-Based Support and Development. The section works to coordinate and implement initiatives to the administration's operations with a focus on leadership and organization and the quality of instruction.
The School-Based Support and Development unit's main mission is to plan, implement, and follow up on school-based support and development work. The unit supports all parts of the administration with process and investigation support and works on coordinating major initiatives and projects directed toward schools. The unit supports the management line with development and investigation assignments within the framework of the education directors' areas of responsibility. The unit also organizes and coordinates the department's overall administration.
