Description
Vilhelmina Folkets Hus is the natural meeting place in Vilhelmina for culture, conferences, food, and entertainment. The facility includes a swimming hall, library, cinema/theater, lunch service, bowling hall, the high school's restaurant and food service program, and various organizations. We are now seeking a motivated and engaged cold beverage server/kitchen assistant for Folkets Hus cafeteria. This is a permanent position with a 6-month probationary period, and the employment level is 75%.
Duties
Your focus will be on preparing salads and baking bread for our daily lunch, as well as assisting with preparations of hot food prepared by our chef. In our kitchen, everything is prepared from classic daily lunch dishes and buffet meals to à la carte. As a cold beverage server/kitchen assistant, you will work with
planning,
raw food/salads,
serving, dishwashing,
cash handling, sales, and cleaning.
You will also participate in quality control work, purchasing of ingredients, menu planning, and contact with staff and guests.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone with restaurant and food service education or other education/experience that the employer deems equivalent, and who speaks Swedish fluently. It is an advantage if you have previously held a position involving meal preparation in a large-scale kitchen or restaurant, have good knowledge of food hygiene and quality control. It is also an advantage if you have knowledge of both hot and cold kitchen work, ingredients, menu creation and complete meals, food preparation and handling of special diets and alternative products, quality control.

Terms of employment: Permanent employment at 75% with possibility for additional hours. The position is covered by collective agreement between the employer organization Fremia and the Hotel and Restaurant Workers' Union (HRF) and the Property Employees' Union (Fastighets) for Folkets Hus and Parks.
Work location: Vilhelmina
Work hours: Daytime, but some evening and weekend work occurs.
