Estimating Engineer - Roofing Contractor Part-time – with opportunity for internship (LIA) Arkadia Tak & Entreprenad AB is seeking a structured and driven estimating engineer who wants to work with estimation and bid preparation in roofing contracting. The position is initially part-time, with the opportunity to develop alongside the company. We are also open to students studying to become estimating engineers, civil engineers, or equivalent who are seeking an internship (LIA) position with a focus on estimation and contracting. About the role As an estimating engineer at Arkadia, you will work closely with company management and production on estimating both smaller and larger contracts. Our projects primarily include waterproofing membranes, building sheet metal, tiles, roof safety, insulation, sedum, and other roof-related work. Your tasks will include: Review and analysis of tender documentation, drawings, and technical specifications Quantity takeoffs from drawings and documents Preparation of estimates and cost assessments Collection and compilation of prices from suppliers and subcontractors Preparation of bid documentation Identification of risks, scope boundaries, reservations, and estimation assumptions Tracking and revision of estimates Dialogue with project management, suppliers, and subcontractors regarding bids We are looking for you We place great emphasis on accuracy, structure, and understanding of contracting as a whole. We would like to see that you: Have education in estimation, building technology, civil engineering, or equivalent Have a good ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and tender documentation Have basic understanding of the building process and contract economics Are experienced in working systematically with numbers and costs Have good knowledge of Excel and other common Office programs Have strong Swedish language skills in both speech and writing Are self-driven, thorough, and take responsibility for your tasks Strongly meriting qualifications It is particularly meriting if you: Have previous experience with estimation in roofing contracting Have knowledge of waterproofing membranes, building sheet metal, tiles, roof safety, or insulation Have worked for a roofing contractor, general contractor, or similar contracting business Have experience with quantity takeoffs from digital drawings Have worked in Bluebeam Revu or equivalent takeoff tools Have experience with estimation software and digital bid management Have understanding of construction law and common contract forms such as AB 04 and ABT 06 Previous experience from roofing contracting is not a requirement, but will carry significant weight in the selection process.
