Uppsala Municipality leads the work on urban development. We work with a wide variety of projects and contribute to developing new city districts, station areas, rapid cycling paths, parks, squares and public services. Our projects range from large urban development projects to renovation of playgrounds. Uppsala's initiatives in urban development, growth and sustainability.
The City Development Administration consists of approximately 600 employees working in cross-boundary processes. You will be part of the planning and contract preparation unit and collaborate with colleagues throughout the administration. The work also involves collaboration outside the organization, for example with Region Uppsala and Uppsala Water.

Description of Duties
In this role you have the opportunity to contribute your expertise and ideas to drive the business forward to achieve the best public benefit. The assignments you work with primarily concern renovation and new construction of public facilities in the municipality such as roads and utilities, squares, parks and outdoor areas.
As an estimator you work with preparing estimates and cost assessments for land and infrastructure work, as well as with monitoring estimates during planning and production. You make early cost assessments for projects in the idea stage when little supporting material is available, for example in preparation for targets and budgets. We therefore place great emphasis on your ability to adapt methodology and working methods based on each assignment as well as collaborating with other expertise to define relevant estimation assumptions.
You prepare unit prices based on previous supporting materials and experience and work with everything from rough cost assessments to detailed estimates. When supporting materials suitable for this are available, we estimate in BidCon. To assist you in your work, in addition to digital tools, there is a large network of colleagues.
You are part of a collegium with our contract engineers and can, if needed, provide support with tasks related to production planning, work environment plans and more. In your role you also work closely with our designers, site managers, planners and project managers. In addition to your role as estimator, you will contribute to developing our work processes in areas such as mass management and climate work based on your strengths and expertise.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone with several years of documented experience in the role of estimator in land, infrastructure and/or civil works or equivalent role. You have education that the employer considers relevant for the position or equivalent experience from the industry. Experience working with climate estimates is a requirement for the position. We also see that you have previous experience from the infrastructure industry, preferably in a production role such as site manager or supervisor.
In your role you are self-driven and take responsibility for your task. You structure your working methods yourself and drive your processes forward. As a person you easily adapt to changing circumstances. When conditions change you can quickly adjust both perspective and working methods, and you see opportunities in change. You have good collaboration skills and work well with others. You are attentive, communicate clearly and contribute to a good working climate by handling disagreements and conflicts in a constructive way.
You are also service-oriented and have a calm, attentive and accommodating manner. You have a genuine interest in helping others and strive to deliver solutions that meet the business needs. Furthermore, you are structured and plan, organize and prioritize your work efficiently. You set clear timeframes and ensure they are met.
