VA Nordic is an expanding group within water and wastewater technology with approximately 250 employees and annual revenue of 900 MSEK. The substantial investment needs in Swedish water and wastewater infrastructure create a strong long-term market and present many interesting projects ahead. Now we are taking the next step in our journey and are seeking a business-driven and analytical Estimating Manager who wants to lead our team and grow with us. About the role Here you have the chance to step into a key position where you combine operational work with strategic leadership. You will be employed by VA Nordic and work with the group's subsidiaries, where you are responsible for developing and strengthening the estimating function across our operations. As Estimating Manager, you are responsible not only for the bidding phase, but you hold the entire process together – from calculating projects to monitoring profitability and learning from results. You will lead a team consisting of both estimators and contract engineers. You are a "working manager," meaning you are involved in daily estimating work while bearing responsibility for seeing the bigger picture, developing our methods, and ensuring the team functions optimally. You don't need to be able to excavate the trench yourself – the technical expertise resides with our site managers, with whom you work closely. Your strength should be understanding the estimate, the business logic behind it, and how we maximize profitability. Examples of responsibilities Strategic analysis: Monitor bidding statistics, analyze competitor pricing, and evaluate our hit-rate to optimize our strategy. Operational estimating: Independently drive and calculate bid projects and be a "player-coach." Process development: Lead efforts in how we estimate, monitor projects, and conduct post-project analyses. Support production: Act as a sounding board to site managers regarding financial and contract matters during project execution. Market: Environmental monitoring and strategic positioning of our bids. We are looking for you who Have experience as an estimating manager or currently work as a senior estimator, contract engineer, or project manager and are ready to take the next step into a management role. Personnel or team responsibility is a merit. Have an analytical mindset – you understand the importance of key metrics, statistics, and follow-up. Are structured and business-minded – you see the bigger picture and are driven by profitability. Have experience with estimating systems such as MAP or Bidcon. Have a background in earthwork, construction, water/wastewater, or building. Have good knowledge of contract law, such as AMA, MER, LUF, and LOU. Have good computer skills and master Excel.
