Key job duties
Provide legal support to the Institute's activities and structural units on a daily basis, as well as in research processes, including matters related to the use of public entity property and financial resources, public procurement, improvement of the Institute's operations, and other issues.
Prepare, review, and coordinate various types of contract drafts (including research, license, service, supply, cooperation, and confidentiality agreements) in Latvian and English.
Provide legal support on intellectual property protection, research results utilization and commercialization, technology transfer, and collaboration with industry.
Develop new and update existing internal regulatory documents of the Institute, including procedures, regulations, statutes and order drafts; provide legal support on personal data protection and research data utilization issues.
Conduct legal compliance assessments and provide legal support in the implementation of EU funds and international projects, including evaluating the legal aspects of "Consortium Agreements" and other documents.
Represent the Institute's interests in courts, arbitration courts, state and municipal authorities, as well as in relations with third parties and cooperation partners, including ensuring the preparation of claims, explanations, counterclaims, and other procedural documents.
Participate in the work of Institute commissions and provide legal support.
Monitor changes in sector regulatory acts and ensure their timely implementation in the Institute's operations.
Requirements for candidates
Higher education in law.
At least 3 years of professional experience in a legal position.
Understanding of the legal regulation of public entity and state scientific institution operations.
Excellent knowledge of civil law, labor law, and administrative law.
Excellent knowledge of Latvian language in both spoken and written form.
Good English language knowledge for working with international documentation and information sources.
Very good skills in working with office software.
Considered as an advantage
Experience in providing legal support to a scientific institution.
Understanding of intellectual property, research results utilization, technology transfer, and commercialization legal issues.

Salary (gross):
From EUR 2000 to EUR 2300 for full-time work, depending on qualifications and experience.
