State civil service officer position
for an indefinite period

Main duties of the position:
to conduct legal analysis of laws and development planning documents in one or more areas of law or policy;
to prepare claims, explanations, appeals and cassation complaints to courts, pre-trial warnings and penalty clause documentation;
to represent the agency in court, the prosecutor's office, state and municipal institutions. To develop drafts of decisions of the agency's Administrative Management, public and private law contracts, regulatory acts, administrative acts and other legal acts, information reports and other documents;
to develop draft contracts for the sale of seized property and material evidence;
to supervise and ensure the implementation of administrative procedures in the agency.
Our requirements:
fifth level professional qualification with a professional higher education master's degree in legal science, obtained after at least five years of legal science studies, or fifth level professional qualification without a master's degree obtained no later than 2007, if confirmed by a state-recognized higher education diploma;
at least five years of work experience in a legal specialty;
knowledge of civil law, administrative and state governance law;
the ability to independently analyze problems in the application of regulatory acts, express and defend your position on matters within your competence;
work experience in state administration, including law enforcement agencies, will be considered an advantage;
skills in analytical work, ability to apply theoretical knowledge in practice;
good knowledge of Latvian language (level C, stage 2), good computer skills (MS Office including web browsers);
the ability to plan and organize your work, high sense of responsibility, communication skills, as well as the ability to work under conditions of increased intensity;
compliance with the requirements of Article 7 of the State Civil Service Law.
