The department is responsible, among other things, for directing and conducting the agency's work on legal matters, providing legal support to all levels of the agency, submitting statements to various supervisory bodies, making initial and review decisions in client matters, representing the Swedish Prison and Probation Service in legal proceedings, and handling compensation and damages claims not assigned to others. Additionally, the department is responsible for the agency's advisory national legal preparedness. The Unit for Client Law fulfills the Legal Department's responsibilities in client legal matters. The Unit's sections for general client law are now seeking a lawyer with placement at the regional office in Örebro. The Legal Department applies the option of remote work agreements, meaning up to 60% of work can be done from home. Job Description As a prison and probation lawyer, one of your main tasks will be to process and make decisions in review cases where initial decisions have been made by the Swedish Prison and Probation Service's local facilities, including prisons and remand facilities. You will also participate in coordinating and developing practices in prison and probation legal matters and be responsible for daily legal advice to local and regional levels. You will represent the Swedish Prison and Probation Service in court proceedings regarding client decisions. You may also handle compensation cases for damages. Your work will include training other agency staff, drafting proposed statements in supervision matters, participating in the legal monitoring of the Swedish Prison and Probation Service's operations, answering internal referrals, and participating in various operational development projects. On-call duty outside regular office hours may also be relevant. Qualifications We are looking for someone who is confident, stable, and has self-awareness.
