About Kriminalvården Kriminalvården is growing – we are building new facilities, renovating, and expanding, and we are now seeking additional staff members. We are the agency responsible for correctional institutions, community supervision, remand prisons, and prisoner transport. The Legal Department is a national department at Kriminalvården's headquarters. The department is responsible for directing and leading the agency's work on legal matters, providing legal support to all levels within the organization, making decisions and reconsideration of decisions in cases concerning convicted individuals, and representing Kriminalvården in legal proceedings. Within the Legal Department, there is a unit for agency law, which is responsible for institutional legal matters. The Section for International Criminal Enforcement, which is part of this unit, is now seeking lawyers for the position of legal expert with placement at the headquarters in Norrköping. Job Description As a legal expert in the Section for International Criminal Enforcement, you will be responsible for handling and making decisions in international enforcement cases. The work includes cases relating to transfer of enforcement to and from other countries as well as international extraditions. The role also involves maintaining ongoing contacts with, among others, the Ministry of Justice, the Prosecution Authority, the Police Authority, and international cooperation partners, as well as representing Kriminalvården in court in the cases handled by the section. Additionally, you will provide legal support to other parts of the operations within the relevant legal areas. We are seeking someone who has: A law degree or legal university diploma Experience in legal work Very strong skills in speaking and writing Swedish Very strong skills in speaking and writing English It is also meritorious to have: Experience in case management within Kriminalvården or other public sector activities Experience in legal advisory work Experience in international criminal law cooperation Experience working with Kriminalvården's client administration system Good proficiency in other languages in addition to Swedish and English Other Information Kriminalvården has chosen to remove the personal letter and replaced it with selection questions that are relevant to the position.
