About the position Karolinska University Hospital is one of Europe's leading medical institutions and a central part of Region Stockholm, with approximately 16,000 employees. Our Legal Unit and Data Protection Unit together consist of approximately ten employees in qualified support functions and specialist roles that support the hospital's various departments and functions. As an IT lawyer with us, you will play a central role in developing and securing the legal aspects of our digital infrastructure. You will primarily work with IT agreements and contract law, for example complex vendor agreements, service agreements, and long-term collaboration agreements. Municipal and administrative law issues as well as procurement law related to the IT field may also be included in the assignment. Since July 1, 2026, Karolinska University Hospital has responsibility for the region's shared IT systems within Region Stockholm. This includes responsibility for procuring new IT systems, implementing them, and ongoing monitoring. As a lawyer at Karolinska, you play a crucial role in leading and developing legal support to the hospital's employees in these matters. In your role as IT lawyer, you are involved throughout the entire chain – from requirement specification and contract negotiations to monitoring, risk management, and development of new solutions. You will have many points of contact, both internally with operations, IT, and management, and externally with suppliers and other actors within Region Stockholm. We are looking for you You have a very strong ability for advanced legal analysis and argumentation. You are creative and find it easy to break down complex problems and put issues into a larger perspective. As a person, you are solution-oriented, analytical, and communicative with the ability to build good relationships. You are also responsible and self-directed with great integrity and the ability to drive and follow up on legal work based on operational needs. The business is largely externally driven and you need to have great flexibility as focus can change quickly. Qualifications Requirements: - Law degree (Juris Doctor/Law degree) - Several years of experience with qualified legal work, particularly within IT law, IT agreements, and general contract law Meritorious: - Experience in public sector activities and procurement law - Understanding and knowledge of regulations concerning cybersecurity, data protection, and AI legislation - Experience working in a large organization with understanding of complex decision-making processes - Experience from the healthcare sector - Experience working in a court, the Government Offices, the EU Commission, or in legal practice About the recruitment process Selection and interviews may take place on an ongoing basis during the application period. In our recruitment process, we may use Assessio's MAP and Matrigma tests. MAP is a personality test and Matrigma is a non-verbal ability test, both based on work psychology research. The tests are used as a complement to your experience and competencies and the purpose is to make our selection process quality-assured and transparent.
