How do you develop software for machines that need to navigate, perform tasks, and operate in some of the world's most demanding environments? In this role, you'll work on developing autonomous and automated systems where C++, simulation, and advanced system development are in focus. You'll be part of a team developing technology for real products and follow solutions all the way from idea and implementation to testing and field deployment.
About the Role
As a Junior Software Engineer, you'll be part of a development team working on tomorrow's autonomous and assisted systems. You'll work with software development, simulation, and technical solutions that help advanced machines navigate, make decisions, and perform work safely and efficiently.
This role is right for you if you've recently graduated and want to develop in an environment where technical depth, innovation, and collaboration are central. You'll have the opportunity to work alongside experienced developers, system architects, and specialists in multiple technical areas. The company is an international industrial conglomerate with a strong focus on research, development, and digitalization.
Team culture is characterized by knowledge sharing, curiosity, and collaboration. Here people help each other solve complex problems and grow together across technical areas. You'll enter an environment with significant technical expertise where you have the opportunity to grow both professionally and technically.
Responsibilities
You'll work in cross-functional development teams where software, simulation, system development, and product development meet. Work spans from requirements and design to implementation, testing, and delivery.
A typical day might involve breaking down new features with the team, implementing code, testing solutions in simulators or test environments, debugging behaviors, and discussing technical choices with colleagues in areas like simulation, architecture, automation, or control engineering. The role is varied and combines programming with technical problem-solving in close collaboration with others.
You will, among other things:
- Develop software in C++ for next-generation machine systems
- Work with simulation, testing, and verification of new features
- Contribute to developing autonomous and automated solutions
- Debug and analyze complex technical systems
- Collaborate closely with developers, testers, and system engineers
- Be involved throughout the entire development chain from idea to finished product
We're Looking for Someone Who:
- Has a degree in Computer Science, Engineering Physics, or equivalent
- Is newly graduated or has up to a couple of years of relevant work experience
- Has a genuine interest in software development and advanced technical systems
- Has programming experience through studies, projects, thesis work, or previous employment
- Speaks and writes fluent Swedish and English
Meritorious Experience:
- Experience with simulation or modeling of technical systems
- Linux-based development
- MATLAB/Simulink or similar tools
Who Are You?
We believe you're a curious and analytical engineer who enjoys understanding how complex systems work. You're motivated by solving technical problems and driven by developing solutions used in the real world.
You're not afraid to ask questions when you encounter something new and appreciate working with others to find the best solutions. At the same time, you take responsibility for your work and have a natural focus on quality and sustainability.
