Vikingsun is now seeking a Junior Accounting Economist who wants to become an important part of the finance department. About Vikingsun Vikingsun AB was founded in 1994 and is an established company in premium products for private and professional kitchens. The company markets and distributes, among other things, Japanese knives, kitchen tools, and other quality products through brands including Satake and Culimat, as well as several well-known international brands. Customers are primarily found in retail, e-commerce, restaurant wholesalers, and corporate promotional companies. Vikingsun has its office, showroom, and test kitchen centrally located in Stockholm. A Role Where You'll Grow Quickly During the first approximately 12 months, you will be covering for an employee on parental leave. This means that from the start you'll have greater responsibility than what is normally associated with a junior role. At the same time, you'll have close support and coaching from the CFO, especially on more complex accounting matters and in connection with financial statements and reporting. Initially, the role is broad and you'll have the opportunity to work with many aspects of accounting and the finance function. You'll work with, among other things, ongoing bookkeeping, accounts receivable and payable, account reconciliations, VAT, payments, reporting, and year-end closing work. You'll also have an important opportunity to understand how finance connects with the business at large. The role therefore involves close collaboration with, for example, sales, procurement, and customer service, where you'll provide support on finance-related matters. The Role Develops Over Time After the first year, the role will change somewhat and become more specialized. You'll no longer have the same broad overall responsibility as in the first year, but will have the opportunity to deepen your knowledge in your main areas of responsibility. Although the main focus will continue to be finance and accounting-related tasks, you'll have a clearer cross-functional role in the organization. Some of your time will be spent supporting other teams and functions, even in areas outside the traditional finance role. The idea is that you can contribute with your financial expertise where it's needed most, while also gaining a good understanding of how different parts of Vikingsun work together. You'll also become an important additional resource within both finance and other parts of the business, for example during illness, parental care, vacation, or peak workloads. This makes the role varied and gives you the opportunity to build a broad understanding of the business over the long term. We're Looking for You If We believe you have a post-secondary education in finance, accounting, or equivalent, and at least one year of relevant experience in accounting and bookkeeping after completing your education. You may have worked for a smaller or medium-sized company where you had the opportunity to get close to the accounting and understand how different parts fit together. You need to have a basic understanding of accounting and bookkeeping and have been exposed to multiple parts of the accounting process. If you have experience with accruals, account reconciliations, and monthly closing, that's a plus. If you've worked at an accounting firm, we'd like to see that you have experience independently handling the accounting for joint-stock companies. It's very advantageous if you have experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, although it's not an absolute requirement. You also need to have good Excel skills and be accustomed to working in various systems. Experience from retail, import, or distribution operations is advantageous, as is experience with AI and automation tools such as ChatGPT, Copilot, or Power Automate.
