We're now looking for a Development Test Engineer for one of Sweden's most advanced technical fields. The railway industry is facing major investments and extensive technical development. We're now looking for a Development Test Engineer who wants to be part of verifying software that controls everything from control stations and switches to barriers and signal systems – solutions that every day contribute to safer, more efficient, and more sustainable railway traffic. ABOUT THE ROLE: As a Development Test Engineer, you'll be part of a team responsible for verification and testing of software within railway signal systems. The team works with safety-critical systems where quality and reliability are crucial. The role is broad and combines technical analysis with the development of test environments and automated tests. You'll work on tasks including: Getting to know the product's functionality and requirements Analyzing requirements, documentation, and system behaviors Investigating bug reports and supporting developers in troubleshooting Participating in projects related to new or upgraded signal systems and control stations Analyzing test results and identifying areas for improvement Developing and maintaining test environments Building and further developing automated tests Writing and improving Python scripts Working with Jenkins and test automation workflows Contributing to continuous improvements of the team's tools and processes You'll be working in an environment with simulators, communication interfaces, and internal test tools used to verify that complex railway systems function according to requirements and safety standards. WE'RE LOOKING FOR YOU WHO: We believe you're early in your career and have a strong technical interest. The most important thing is not that you have previous railway experience – but that you're curious, driven, and motivated to understand how complex systems work in depth. Requirements for the role are that you have: A degree in Civil Engineering or Engineering (e.g., Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Engineering Physics, or Mechanical Engineering) Programming skills in Python Experience with Unix environments Interest in testing, verification, and troubleshooting Ability to understand complex technical systems It's a plus if you have: Experience with Jenkins Knowledge of test automation Experience with Robot Framework Knowledge of Docker or Kubernetes Experience with scripting and automated test environments To thrive in the role, we believe you are: Curious and want to work on problem solving Driven and take initiative Analytical and solution-oriented Interested in how systems work in practice, not just in theory ABOUT THE EMPLOYMENT: This is a consultant assignment, which means that initially you'll be employed by Friday.
