Residential Shift Staff at VAL-BO Treatment Home Here, your work becomes someone's chance to get their life back. At VAL-BO, we treat men over 18 years old with substance abuse issues. Our treatment is based on the twelve-step program, and we believe in change that takes place around the clock – not just during scheduled treatment hours. This is why our shift staff are a vital part of our treatment work. As shift staff with us, you are responsible for safety, structure, and continuity during evenings, nights, and weekends. On weekends, you work actively in and lead parts of the treatment, facilitate groups and scheduled activities, and provide support to patients in their change process. Who are we looking for? We believe the right person is more important than a perfect CV. You are self-assured, responsible, and have a genuine interest in people. You can build relationships and show warmth, while being clear and setting boundaries. Since parts of the work are done independently, you need good judgment, the ability to make decisions, and maintain calm even when situations become challenging. You also need to be comfortable leading groups and taking responsibility for the treatment environment. Above all, we're looking for someone who can see the person behind the addiction and who believes in people's capacity for change. What does the work involve? The shift staff are a central part of VAL-BO's round-the-clock coverage. You work using environmental therapy and ensure that treatment, safety, and structure continue even when other staff are not present. The work includes, among other things: facilitating morning meetings, house meetings, evening gatherings, and other group and treatment activities working actively in and leading parts of the treatment during weekends having supportive and treatment-focused conversations creating safety, structure, and a stable treatment environment conducting attendance checks, taking samples, and carrying out other security procedures documenting and maintaining records managing situations, risks, and incidents that arise cooperating with treatment staff, management, and back-up staff contributing to the practical aspects of daily operations that keep the treatment home running Part of the position involves working alone. The Twelve-Step Program The twelve-step program is a central part of treatment at VAL-BO. As shift staff, you need to understand the program's philosophy and contribute to keeping the treatment alive during evenings and weekends. Personal experience with and strong grounding in the twelve-step program is a merit and something we see as a great asset in working with our target group. Working hours – one week on, one week off The position is full-time and follows a rotating shift schedule where you primarily work one week and are off one week. The work includes evenings, nights, and weekends. This means periods of intense and responsible work, but also longer consecutive time off. We're looking for someone who has a two-year post-secondary education focused on social work, such as treatment pedagogue, social pedagogue, or equivalent qualification. Meritorious qualifications include: personal experience with and strong grounding in the twelve-step program experience working with twelve-step treatment experience from treatment homes, residential care, or similar facilities knowledge of substance abuse and crime issues experience leading groups and treatment activities. A B-level driver's license is a requirement. You also need to meet the requirements that apply to work related to our clients, including the Swedish Prison and Probation Service's requirements regarding any previous criminal convictions.
