The Investigation Unit is under Police District Västernorrland and consists of on-call investigation leaders and crime coordination. As an on-call investigation leader, you operate actively and with responsibility for the cases handled at the function. We are now looking for you who want to work as an on-call investigation leader in Örnsköldsvik, Kramfors, Härnösand, or Sundsvall 1 position(s). RESPONSIBILITIES As an on-call investigation leader, the team operates 24/7 every day of the year in regional, police district, and local police area cases. You manage patrols in the field to take far-reaching and relevant initial measures, and you also manage the investigative resources available during day and evening shifts so that relevant and adequate investigative measures are taken in the cases where you are the investigation leader. As a manager, you also have occupational health and safety responsibility based on your management function. Together with group chiefs, you coach, motivate, and support employees and create conditions for them to succeed in the crime investigation and crime prevention mission. As an on-call investigation leader, you act offensively and in accordance with applicable legislation. You also collaborate with, among others, crime coordination, station commanders, duty officers, RLC officers, field officers, the Police's contact center (PKC), local investigation leaders, prosecutors, the court system, defense attorneys, and the correctional service. Within the team, expedited prosecution (SLF) is handled, where you as an investigation leader support patrols at the scene in cases to be handled within SLF and manage the case until it is handed over to the prosecutor. As an on-call investigation leader, you may also serve as an investigation leader in other teams/units and/or in individual cases. QUALIFICATIONS This is an opportunity for you who have: • Police degree according to Regulation (2014:1105) on police officer training or other education or work experience that the employer considers relevant • Relevant work experience in independent criminal investigation work • Very good ability to express yourself in Swedish, both verbally and in writing • Good computer skills and good knowledge of the MS Office package It is meritorious if you also have: • Relevant experience in management with good results • Current and relevant experience in investigation leadership with good results. Experience in on-call investigation leadership is advantageous • Experience in independent criminal investigation work with good results • Completed the Police's investigation leadership training at minimum basic level with passing results The function of investigation leader is complex and places high demands on the ability to work both independently and in a team, to build good relationships, and to cooperate well both internally and externally. To succeed in the role, you need to be active in your management and independently be able to drive investigations and work tasks forward in a responsible manner. Since the workload can occasionally be high, you need to be able to maintain composure in stressful situations, make judgments about which work tasks need to be prioritized, and make quick decisions based on known facts even if the full picture is not yet completely clear. Since operations are event-driven, it requires that you as a person are flexible, unpretentious, and coaching toward your colleagues. You have a committed and positive attitude; through this, you create participation and motivation among your employees. We will place great emphasis on personal qualities.
