The Investigation Section falls under the Västernorrland Police District and consists of on-duty pre-investigation leaders and crime coordination. As an on-duty pre-investigation leader, you act operatively and with responsibility for the cases handled by the function. We are now seeking you who want to work as an on-duty pre-investigation leader in Örnsköldsvik, Kramfors, Härnösand, or Sundsvall 1 position(s). WORK DUTIES As an on-duty pre-investigation leader, the team operates 24/7, 365 days a year on both regional, police district, and local police district matters. You supervise patrols in the field to take far-reaching and relevant immediate action, and you also supervise the investigation resources available during day and evening shifts so that relevant and adequate investigative measures are taken in the cases for which you are the pre-investigation leader. As a supervisor, you also have responsibility for the work environment based on your supervisory function. Together with the group chiefs, you coach, motivate, and support employees and create conditions for them to succeed in the criminal investigation and crime prevention mission. As an on-duty pre-investigation leader, you act offensively and with legal certainty based on applicable legislation. You also cooperate with, among others, crime coordination, station commander, duty commander, RLC commander, field commander, the Police's contact center (PKC), local pre-investigation leaders, prosecutors, the court system, defense attorneys, and the correctional service. Within the group, accelerated prosecution (SLF) is handled, where you as pre-investigation leader support patrols at the scene in cases to be handled within SLF and process the case until it is handed over to the prosecutor. As an on-duty pre-investigation leader, you may also act as a pre-investigation leader in other groups/units and/or in individual cases. QUALIFICATIONS This is an opportunity for you who have: • Police degree according to Regulation (2014:1105) on police officer training or other education or work experience that the employer deems relevant • Relevant work experience with independent criminal investigation work • Very good ability to express yourself in Swedish, both orally and in writing • Good computer skills and good knowledge of the MS Office package It is meritorious if you also have: • Relevant experience of supervision with good results. • Current and relevant experience of pre-investigation leadership with good results. Experience of pre-investigation leadership in an on-duty environment is advantageous. • Experience of independent criminal investigation work with good results. • Completed the Police's pre-investigation leader training at minimum level ground with a passing result. The function of pre-investigation leader is complex and places high demands on the ability to work both independently and in a group, to build good relationships, and to cooperate well both internally and externally. To succeed in the role, you need to be active in your supervision and independently be able to drive investigations and work tasks forward in a responsible manner. Since the workload can be high at times, you need to be able to maintain calm in stressful situations, make assessments about which work tasks need to be prioritized, and make quick decisions based on the known facts available even if the full picture is not yet clear. Since the operation is event-driven, it requires that you as a person are flexible, unpretentious, and coaching toward your colleagues. You have an engaged and positive attitude; through this, you create participation and motivation among your employees. We will place great emphasis on personal qualities.
