Lidköping Municipality is now seeking engaged and secure families who, on behalf of social services, want to make a meaningful contribution to children and young people in need of placement outside their home in a loving, safe and stable environment. As a contracted day care home, you offer one or more children and young people a temporary home environment. Your role is to create a stable environment where the child/children can feel safe, seen and cared for during a shorter period. Being a day care home requires flexibility, empathy and a great willingness to help children in vulnerable situations who are often in crisis. You become an important part of a process where the child's needs are put first. As an enhanced foster home, you offer one or more children a safe home environment. Usually the child is 10 years old and above. Your role is to create a stable environment where the child can feel seen and cared for. Being an enhanced foster home requires flexibility, empathy and a great willingness to help children in vulnerable situations. You become an important part of a process where the child's needs are put first. You usually have the child/young person with you for a longer period. As an enhanced foster home, an adult is expected to be home full-time. Children and young people living in an enhanced foster home have greater care needs than what can be provided in traditional/general foster homes. When/if the need for enhanced support is no longer needed, enhanced care can transition to a general foster home. Activities and support for our day care and enhanced foster homes We in the Foster Care Group are here for our day care and enhanced foster homes through regular contact, supervision and flexible and present support. Our day care and enhanced foster homes are trained in A Home to Grow In. Lectures and other activities are arranged regularly. Who can become a day care or enhanced foster home? - You should have a secure and stable family situation. - Live in one of the Skaraborg municipalities. - You need to have space both in your home and in your heart to receive a child in need of support. - Time for the assignment. - You have a willingness to collaborate with social services, professionals and biological network. - Before assignment, social services conduct an investigation that includes home visits, interviews according to the National Board of Health and Welfare's recommendations and register checks to ensure that your home is a safe environment for the placed child/young person. Meritorious are: - Previous professional experience in people-oriented professions or equivalent education - Previous experience as a foster family or contact family - Experience with NPF diagnoses What do we offer? - Support in the form of supervision and training. - As an enhanced foster home, you get a professional team consisting of child secretary, foster care secretary and family therapist who provide weekly support to you. - Financial compensation according to SKR's recommendations.
