SiS Youth Institution Johannisberg operates in Kalix and in Boden (Sävastgården unit). Job Description SIS Youth Institution Johannisberg consists of two units, one in Kalix and one in Boden/Sävast. In Kalix, the mission is to provide closed youth detention for upper secondary school-aged youth, and in Boden/Sävast, compulsory care for youth of primary school age. Therefore, SiS in general and Johannisberg in particular invests in developing school operations. The school at the Sävast unit is central to the operation, and school/education is considered the highest protective factor for youth. In Sävast we teach at primary school level and work with various pedagogical assessments. Säfeskolan also has daily access to a special education teacher, psychologist, and nurse. We collaborate closely with these professionals as well as with unit staff, investigation secretaries, and quality managers, among others, to achieve a holistic approach to treatment/work. Most students have customized study programs adapted to each student's needs and abilities. We conduct continuous work to expand studies in both scope and level of difficulty. The focus is to establish or develop a school identity that will serve as the foundation when the student returns to studies at a municipal or private school. Teaching takes place in small groups or individually. As a teacher, you have both the time and opportunity to meet students where they are and provide the support and help they need. The work environment for both youth and teachers is generally characterized by a studious atmosphere. This is important for students to succeed in their studies and for the teaching staff to have a good work environment. Your teaching will take place at Säfeskolan in Sävast. Qualifications We are seeking a primary school teacher of Swedish for teaching at primary school level. Expertise in Swedish as a second language (sva) is a merit. The employment level is 100%. Beyond formal qualifications, you should be flexible and possess broad social competence. We also expect you to be a good and trustworthy role model for our youth. Therefore, we place great emphasis on personal suitability. Good collaborative skills with other professional groups are important to achieve a holistic approach to treatment/education.
