The Education and Labor Market Administration is responsible for employment-promoting measures, integration issues, and education at upper secondary and post-secondary levels. Here we create conditions for lifelong learning and opportunities for individuals to develop, study, and achieve financial independence. We also contribute to a vibrant business community by identifying development needs in the business sector and creating project initiatives, networks, and meeting places where education and business can meet. The Labor Market Unit is organized under the Education and Labor Market Administration and belongs to the VIA department (adult education, integration, and labor market). We work in various ways with assignments primarily from social services/income support but also from the Integration Unit, the Swedish Public Employment Service, and other parties of the Coordination Association such as the Swedish Social Insurance Agency and Region Halland. We are currently about 25 employees. Within the unit, there are currently initiatives such as internal and external work training, job search activities, internship placements, business contacts, work capacity assessments, and various educational initiatives, among others. The Labor Market Unit within Varberg Municipality is in an expansive transformation process focused on helping more individuals find the fastest path to sustainable financial independence. New legal requirements mean that everyone receiving income support, based on their capacity to participate in activities, must be active with a focus on breaking isolation and moving towards financial independence. The Labor Market Unit has been given the task of developing collaboration internally within the municipality, civil society, and the business community to activate and work towards progression to employment for everyone receiving income support. Therefore, we are expanding our staff by 4 employees with various assignments. Do you want to be part of developing this important and exciting operation further? 3 position(s). WORK ASSIGNMENTS The unit's and job coaches' assignments include working with participants towards financial independence, leading group activities, and actively working to find possible pathways forward. This can mean finding potential employers, maintaining contact with them, and matching participants to possible employment or finding pathways to studies or other means of financial independence. In this role, the main focus is to work with group activities for our participants. This can include, for example, theoretical group activities with high participation based on workshop format, health-promoting initiatives, and/or leading group activities held at other locations. QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for someone with relevant higher education such as behavioral scientist, social worker, occupational therapist, study and career counselor, or other suitable education that the employer deems equivalent, but we place great emphasis on personal suitability and experience. We are looking for someone with experience leading group activities and working closely and in a coaching capacity with individuals with harmful substance use/addiction and mental/physical health issues or who are outside the labor market for other reasons. The work requires good collaboration skills with participants as well as colleagues and collaboration partners. We are looking for you with experience working goal-oriented with unemployed people who are far from the labor market for various reasons. Therefore, it is important that you have a combination of labor market knowledge and knowledge of behavioral science. It is very important that you are driven, goal-focused, and are a network builder with a good ability to see the whole picture. You need to be comfortable taking independent responsibility for a group, participant development, and quality content, and work closely, in a coaching manner, and actively with participants. You are good at expressing yourself both verbally and in writing in Swedish as you continuously document participant progress. You work closely with both colleagues and activity developers. Salary form: Monthly salary. Employment type: Fixed-term employment. Duration: Start date: 2026-10-01, End date: 2027-10-31.
