There are schools where 7 out of 10 students do not meet upper secondary school requirements. At the nonprofit Stiftelsen Läxhjälpen, you contribute your skills and commitment to help more students achieve the required qualifications with confidence for the future. For the fall term 2026, we are looking for homework tutors on Hisingen who want to lay the foundation for a successful school year! We are seeking someone interested in a paid side job while making a concrete social impact. The position is hourly work in the afternoons/evenings and involves being a homework tutor after school hours at one of our partner schools. You work in a team of three tutors, all of whom are higher education students. You will receive training in and work according to our structured approach. Each homework tutoring group consists of 15 students, and together with your colleagues, you are responsible for planning, implementing, and following up on the work. As a homework tutor, you can work either as a regular tutor or as a substitute. As a regular tutor, you work 6 hours per week spread across two scheduled afternoons/evenings (opportunities for extra substitution shifts are available). As a substitute, you work when regular tutors are on leave or sick. The work is performed after school hours in the school's facilities. We are looking for someone who: - Is a university or higher education student - Has pedagogical ability and can communicate and build relationships with children and youth. - Is solution-oriented, takes initiative, and can work according to our structured approach and method. - Has broad foundational subject knowledge and good study techniques. - Shares Stiftelsen Läxhjälpen's values and vision of a society where all children grow up with the ability to succeed in school and shape their own future. Since the job involves working with children, we place great emphasis on personal suitability. Providing an extract from the police criminal record register to the employer is a legal requirement for working with children and youth. The differences between schools, where you live, where you come from, and what your parents do increasingly determine how likely you are to succeed in school. Stiftelsen Läxhjälpen is a nonprofit foundation that works where it is needed most. Homework tutoring is free for students, and tutor salaries are financed through support from the business sector and the public sector. Homework tutoring is a concrete initiative that addresses one of Sweden's biggest problems today - an increasing number of young people are not succeeding in school and risk being excluded from society. Carefully selected, paid higher education students help young people with their studies two evenings a week and are also positive role models and mentors. Since our founding in 2007, we have developed a structured approach and a clear goal - to improve grades and help students progress to upper secondary school. Today we operate at over 90 schools in Stockholm, Södertälje, Västerås, Norrköping, Gothenburg, Landskrona, Umeå, Sundsvall, Uppsala, Gävle, and Malmö, among others.
