At the non-profit Stiftelsen Läxhjälpen, you contribute your skills and commitment to help more students achieve eligibility requirements with confidence for the future. We are now looking for new homework tutors in Stockholm! We are seeking someone interested in a paid part-time job while making a concrete social impact. The position is an hourly employment in afternoons/evenings and involves working as a homework tutor after school hours at one of our partner schools. You work as part of a team of three tutors, all of whom are college students. You receive training in and work according to our structured approach. Each homework tutoring group consists of 15 students, and together with your colleagues, you are responsible for planning, implementing, and following up on the work. As a homework tutor, you can either work as a regular tutor or as a substitute. As a regular tutor, you work 6 hours per week divided over two scheduled afternoons/evenings (with the possibility for extra substitute shifts). As a substitute, you work when regular tutors are on leave or sick. The work is performed after school hours in the school's facilities. We are looking for someone who: - Is a university or college student - Has pedagogical ability and can communicate and build relationships with children and young people - Is solution-oriented, takes initiative, and can work according to our structured approach and method - Has broad foundational subject competence and good study techniques - Shares Stiftelsen Läxhjälpen's values and vision of a society where all children grow up with the conditions to succeed in school and shape their own future Since the job involves working with children, we place great emphasis on personal suitability. Providing an extract from the police criminal record registry to the employer is a statutory requirement to work with children and young people. The differences between schools, where you live, where you come from, and what your parents do increasingly determine your likelihood of succeeding in school. Stiftelsen Läxhjälpen is a non-profit foundation that operates where it is most needed. Homework help is free for students, and tutors' salaries are financed through support from the business sector and public sector. Läxhjälpen is a concrete initiative addressing one of Sweden's greatest challenges today - more and more young people are not succeeding in school and risk being excluded from society. Carefully selected, paid college students help young people with their studies two evenings a week and are simultaneously positive role models and mentors. Since our founding in 2007, we have developed a structured approach and a clear goal - to improve grades and help students advance to upper secondary school. Today we operate in over 100 schools in Stockholm, Södertälje, Västerås, Norrköping, Gothenburg, Landskrona, Umeå, Sundsvall, Uppsala, Gävle, and Malmö, among others.
