There are schools where 7 out of 10 students do not meet upper secondary school eligibility requirements. At the non-profit Stiftelsen Läxhjälpen, you contribute with your expertise and commitment to help more students achieve eligibility requirements with confidence for the future. We are now looking for new homework helpers in Södertälje! We are looking for you who are interested in a paid side job and at the same time want to make a concrete social contribution. The position is an hourly employment in afternoons/evenings and involves being a homework helper after school hours at one of our partner schools. Here you work in a team of three homework helpers, all of whom are university students. You will receive training in and work according to our structured approach. Each homework help group consists of 15 students, and together with your colleagues, you are responsible for planning, implementing, and following up on the work. As a homework helper, you can work either as a regular homework helper or as a substitute. As a regular homework helper, you work 6 hours per week divided over two scheduled afternoons/evenings (opportunity for extra substitute shifts available). As a substitute, you work when regular homework helpers are on leave or sick. The work is performed after school hours in the school's premises. We are looking for you who: - Are a university or higher education student - Have pedagogical ability and can communicate and build relationships with children and young people. - Are solution-oriented, take initiative, and can work according to our structured approach and method. - Have broad fundamental subject competence and good study techniques. - Share Stiftelsen Läxhjälpen's values and vision of a society where all children grow up with the prerequisites to succeed in school and shape their own future. Since the job involves working with children, we place great emphasis on personal suitability. Providing an extract from the police criminal record register to the employer is a statutory requirement for working with children and young people. The differences between schools, where you live, where you come from, and what your parents work with increasingly determine how likely you are to succeed in school. Stiftelsen Läxhjälpen is a non-profit foundation that operates where it is needed most. Läxhjälpen is free for students, and homework helpers' salaries are financed through support from the business sector and public sector. Läxhjälpen is a concrete intervention that tackles one of Sweden's biggest problems today—that more and more young people are not succeeding in school and risk being left out of society. Carefully selected, paid university students help young people with their studies two evenings a week and are also positive role models and mentors. Since our start in 2007, we have developed a structured approach and a clear goal—to improve grades and help students progress to upper secondary school. Today we operate in over 90 schools in, among others, Stockholm, Södertälje, Västerås, Norrköping, Gothenburg, Landskrona, Umeå, Sundsvall, Uppsala, Gävle, and Malmö.
