There are schools where 7 out of 10 students do not meet upper secondary school requirements. At the non-profit Stiftelsen Läxhjälpen, you contribute your skills and commitment to help more students achieve the required qualifications with confidence for the future. We are now looking for new homework tutors in Borås! We are seeking someone interested in a paid side job while making a concrete social impact. The position is an hourly employment in the afternoons/evenings and involves being a homework tutor after school hours at one of our partner schools. With us, you work in a team of three tutors, all of whom are university/college students. You will receive training in and work according to our structured approach. Each homework tutoring group consists of 15 students, and together with your colleagues, you are responsible for planning, implementing, and following up on the work. As a homework tutor, you can work either as a regular tutor or as a substitute. As a regular tutor, you work 6 hours per week spread over two scheduled afternoons/evenings (opportunity for extra substitute shifts available). As a substitute, you work when regular tutors are on leave or sick. The work is performed after school hours in the school's facilities. We are looking for someone who: -Is a university or college student -Has pedagogical skills and can communicate and build relationships with children and young people. -Is solution-oriented, proactive, and can work according to our structured approach and method. -Has broad foundational subject knowledge and good study techniques. -Shares Stiftelsen Läxhjälpen's values and vision of a society where all children grow up with the conditions to succeed in school and shape their own future. Since the work involves working with children, we place great emphasis on personal suitability. Providing an extract from the police criminal record for the employer is a legal requirement to work with children and young people. The differences between schools, where you live, where you come from, and what your parents do increasingly determine how likely you are to succeed in school. Stiftelsen Läxhjälpen is a non-profit foundation that operates where the need is greatest. Homework tutoring is free for students, and tutors' salaries are financed through support from the business sector and public sector. Läxhjälpen is a concrete initiative that addresses one of Sweden's biggest problems today—that more and more young people are failing in school and risk being left out of society. Carefully selected, paid university/college students help young people with their studies two evenings a week while also being positive role models and mentors. Since our founding in 2007, we have developed a structured approach and a clear goal—to improve grades and help students progress to upper secondary school. Today, we operate in over 90 schools including Stockholm, Södertälje, Västerås, Norrköping, Gothenburg, Landskrona, Umeå, Sundsvall, Uppsala, Gävle, and Malmö.
