There are schools where 7 out of 10 students do not meet upper secondary school eligibility requirements. At the non-profit Stiftelsen Läxhjälpen, you contribute your skills and commitment to help more students achieve eligibility requirements with confidence for the future. We are now looking for new digital homework helpers! We are looking for someone interested in a paid side job while also wanting to make a concrete social impact. The position is an hourly contract for afternoons/evenings and involves being a digital homework helper after school within our digital program. As a digital homework helper, you meet students online and support them in their schoolwork using digital tools. You work as part of a team with other homework helpers and receive training in, and work according to, our structured approach and method. A central part of the assignment is relationship building. As a digital homework helper, you need to be able to "break through the screen," create a sense of safety, and build trusting relationships with students despite the physical distance. You are present, engaged, and attentive, and understand how important relationships are for students' motivation, study environment, and development. As a homework helper, you can either work as a regular digital homework helper or as a substitute. As a regular homework helper, you work approximately 6 hours per week, spread over two scheduled afternoons/evenings (with the possibility of extra substitute shifts). As a substitute, you work as needed when regular homework helpers are absent. All work is done digitally. We are looking for someone who: Is a university or college student. Has good pedagogical ability and can communicate clearly, engagedly, and in a relationship-building manner with children and young people in digital environments. Is comfortable leading and participating in digital meetings and finds it easy to create contact and trust online. Is solution-oriented, takes initiative, and can work according to our structured approach and method. Has broad fundamental subject knowledge and good study skills. Shares Stiftelsen Läxhjälpen's values and vision of a society where all children grow up with the conditions to succeed in school and shape their own future. Since the work involves working with children, we place great emphasis on personal suitability. Providing a criminal record excerpt from the police is a legal requirement to work with children and young people. The differences between schools, where you live, where you come from, and what your parents do increasingly determine the likelihood of you succeeding in school. Stiftelsen Läxhjälpen is a non-profit foundation that operates where it is needed most. Läxhjälpen is free for students, and homework helpers' salaries are financed through support from the business sector and the public sector. Läxhjälpen is a concrete initiative that addresses one of Sweden's biggest problems today - increasing numbers of young people are not succeeding in school and risk being excluded from society. Carefully selected, paid college students help young people with their studies two evenings a week and are also positive role models and mentors. Since our start in 2007, we have developed a structured approach and a clear goal - to improve grades and help students progress to upper secondary school. We are present today in over 90 schools in, among others, Stockholm, Södertälje, Västerås, Norrköping, Gothenburg, Landskrona, Umeå, Sundsvall, Uppsala, Gävle, and Malmö.
