Position: Education Methodologist Smiltenes Municipality Education Department (Reg. No. 40900038148) invites applications for an Education Methodologist position. We are seeking an Education Methodologist for the primary education stage (profession code – 2351 01) for a fixed-term position (to implement the project "Development of a Professional Support System for Teachers" No. 4.2.2.3/1/24/I/001 until August 1, 2029) on a part-time basis (0.2 full-time equivalent). We invite an energetic, creative, and professional colleague who can responsibly and proactively foster the development of education quality at the primary education level in Smiltenes Municipality. We are looking for a specialist capable of organizing and coordinating methodological work, providing professional support to teachers, promoting collaboration between educational institutions and involved organizations, as well as facilitating the exchange of best practices and teacher professional development. If you have experience in education, understanding of primary education curriculum and methodology, skills to organize methodological work, and a desire to support teacher professional growth, we are looking for you! Your main responsibilities: - Implement professional support measures and consultations for teachers to develop education quality in primary schools in Smiltenes Municipality; - Build collaboration with VIAA state methodologists in primary education for specific task completion or professional development. Ensure information exchange between VIAA, the municipality, educational institutions, and teachers on relevant matters; - In cooperation with Smiltenes Municipality Education Department, implement professional support measures and consultations for teachers to develop education quality in primary schools; - Identify and update professional development needs of primary school teachers, offering targeted professional development to primary school teachers employed by the municipality in cooperation with the Education Department; - Organize cooperation with primary school teachers in the municipality, promoting the compilation of best practice examples, informing about current developments in teaching areas and primary schools; - Develop and implement work plans, financial requests, data analysis and compilation, providing conclusions and recommendations within your competence; We value: - Bachelor's/Master's degree in the field where the study program included a pedagogy course or a teaching subject didactics course, or second-level professional higher education in the field; - Experience in planning, coordinating, and organizing methodological work; - Preferred experience in organizing collaboration and methodological work among multiple educational institutions; - At least 3 years of experience in primary education – in methodology and content; - Knowledge and skills in organizing teacher professional development and developing teaching content and methodological materials; - State language proficiency at the highest level (C1) in accordance with the requirements of the State Language Law; - Excellent computer skills; - Good communication, collaboration, and organizational skills; - Ability to rationally organize your work and take responsibility; We offer: - Part-time work for a fixed term with a workplace in Smiltene, Dārza Street 11; - Monthly salary starting from 329 euros before tax (for part-time work – 8 hours per week); - Health insurance after probation period (or after three months of work) and other benefits as provided by regulations; - Good working conditions and a friendly team.
