About the role As an IT Systems Engineer, you work with onboard-based IT systems and associated infrastructure in technically advanced and business-critical platforms. You design and maintain robust, secure, and high-performance IT environments in complex, distributed systems, where custom-developed components are combined with commercial solutions. You collaborate closely with systems engineers, developers, and other stakeholders to ensure that systems meet both operational and technical requirements. Summary of tasks: Design, develop, and verify IT systems and infrastructure Contribute to implementation through scripting, automation, and system configuration Analyze and review technical solutions and system architectures Prepare and maintain system documentation (design, instructions, policies) Support the integration of internal and external systems and continuously improve performance, reliability, and manageability About you You are a curious and solution-oriented engineer or developer who thrives in a cross-functional and collaborative environment. We are looking for you who have A degree in software development, IT, or related field – or equivalent practical experience Experience with IT systems, software development, or infrastructure work Experience with or interest in several of the following: version control (Git), scripting or programming (Python, Bash, PowerShell, etc.), Linux and/or Windows environments, virtualization (KVM, Hyper-V), Infrastructure as Code (Ansible, Terraform, Puppet), and Microsoft Active Directory Very good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written Ability to undergo and pass a security clearance before employment, which may require certain citizenship Meritorious Experience with system architecture or technical design Knowledge of DevOps/DevSecOps practices Experience from product development environments Experience working in complex, distributed systems About the company The client company is a leading player in the defense and security sector that develops and maintains advanced, business-critical systems.
