Do you want to work in a city where ideas quickly become reality and where you see the results of your work? In Sundbyberg, there's a short distance between people, decisions, and opportunities. Here you get to have a real impact, while developing and growing in your role.
You aim high. And keep your feet on the ground. Just like we do.
Want to help drive the digital everyday life in one of Sweden's fastest-growing municipalities? Are you looking for a role where you can solve exciting technical challenges on the front lines and deliver world-class service? Then you might be the IT support technician we're looking for at Sundbyberg Municipality!
At our IT department, we're responsible for support and operation of the municipality's IT environment. You'll become part of the work to ensure that the city's operations have a functioning and stable IT environment. Through your work, you contribute to enabling the municipality's employees to fulfill their mission for residents, students, and users. The IT department is part of the Development and Enterprise division under the Management and Coordination sector, and works closely with colleagues and operations throughout the organization.
In the role of IT support technician, you'll work operationally together with your colleagues. Your work takes place at our service desk, via phone, remote support, and on-site at the municipality's various operations. You're part of a team led daily by a team leader.
Since the role involves extensive direct contact with our users, both at our service desk and on-site at operations, the position requires you to be on-site at our facilities to a large extent, though some remote work may occur when tasks permit. You report directly to the IT Operations Manager.
Examples of responsibilities:
Provide technical support at our service desk, via phone, ticketing system, and remote support, as well as solve problems on-site at operations. You help users with everything from computers, phones, applications, and accounts to more complex troubleshooting.
Install, configure, and deploy clients and mobile devices. Work actively with user administration in, for example, Active Directory and Microsoft 365.
Work in close collaboration with the team, team leader, and the municipality's system technicians and system administrators to escalate issues properly, ensure stable operations, and contribute to smooth handovers.
Contribute to organization and structure in our shared work processes by carefully documenting issues and following the team's established routines.
Participate actively in team meetings and contribute ideas for minor local improvement initiatives to develop our Service Desk.
We're looking for someone who has
At least upper secondary IT education or equivalent knowledge as assessed by the employer as equivalent.
Experience with operational IT support or service desk work.
Strong knowledge of Windows environments and Microsoft 365, as well as experience working systematically with ticketing systems.
Ability to understand operational needs and translate them into practical technical support.
Very strong skills in Swedish, spoken and written.
To succeed in the role, we're looking for someone who is service-oriented, curious, and solution-focused. You're a confident and unpretentious team player who enjoys collaborating with different competencies, but also has the ability to work independently and take responsibility for following up on your issues. You're motivated by learning more, developing within IT, and enjoy a role with many points of contact both within the IT department and at operations. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
Sundbyberg Municipality is a modern and forward-thinking workplace where digitalization and innovation are important. We offer a dynamic work environment where you have the opportunity to influence and develop both IT and operations as a whole. We invest in our employees and offer excellent opportunities for personal development and strong team spirit in an engaged team.
Application deadline: August 16, 2026.
We do not accept applications via email. Interviews may be conducted on a rolling basis.
Other information
This is a permanent full-time position. Start date by agreement. A probationary period may be applied.
A large part of our operations is classified as critical national infrastructure. The position means you may be part of Sundbyberg Municipality's civil contingency organization. Before employment, the employer will request that you provide a certificate from the Police Register of Criminal Records.
We decline applications from those selling ads and recruitment services.
