At the Police's IT department, approximately 1,400 people work broadly and purposefully across several different areas to support the Police's mission 24/7. Within the current group, we work toward the operational unit where we develop critical technical solutions that the Police Authority needs to combat serious organized crime, as well as support the specialist operations within the agency. We work where high security standards and strict confidentiality meet close collaboration with both the operational activities and other teams within the IT department.
Job Description
As an IT specialist in our teams, you will help strengthen expertise in operational technology, for example mobile equipment for both vehicles and personnel, as well as various types of software. You will work closely with police operations to create a good understanding of the operational needs and conditions, which you then transform into effective technical solutions, while maintaining security standards.
You will work with an exciting technical breadth where you handle both hardware and software as well as infrastructure. You will follow solutions through their entire lifecycle, from installation and development to operations, training, and support. Therefore, we're looking for someone who enjoys being a broad generalist but is also driven to deepen your knowledge in specific technology areas.
Typical work tasks may include:
Administration of standalone IT environments, such as server administration, user management, and client equipment management
Application configuration, as well as some further development
Troubleshooting and user support
Implementation of applications and work with hardware in the environment
Monitoring of current technologies

Qualifications
Post-secondary education in IT, or equivalent experience that the Police Authority deems equivalent
Work experience in a role as technician, systems engineer, systems developer, applications specialist, or similar that the Police Authority deems relevant
Work experience within networking, IT infrastructure, physical and virtual IT environments that the Police Authority deems relevant
Very good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish
Good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in English
Swedish citizenship
It is meritorious if you:
Have a strong interest in, or experience with, hands-on work with hardware
Have good experience administering Windows and/or Linux environments, preferably with terminal experience in PowerShell/CLI
Have previous experience with Geodata/GIS, preferably in combination with APIs and streaming data
Have worked with administration and maintenance of Active Directory
Have previous experience with installation/configuration of applications
Have worked with standalone, hardened technical environments
Have knowledge in systems development/IT architecture
