The section encompasses several different areas of expertise, all focused on complementing and contributing to the region's investigative operations. The Regional IT Crime Center Nord's mission is to investigate and provide specialized expertise in investigations with IT-related elements. The section also has the task of contributing to competency development in investigative activities concerning IT-related crime throughout the region. Work Tasks As an IT forensicist, your work task is to assist investigators with forensic evidence and information security of digital media, which can constitute an important part of a criminal investigation. The work tasks include planning, securing, extracting, analyzing, and evaluating digital traces from electronic devices or sources. You will assist during house searches where, for example, electronic data carriers must be secured. You may also be called upon to testify in connection with court proceedings and to assist during interrogations. Through your work, you will be exposed to material that may be disturbing and unpleasant. Therefore, special requirements are placed on your ability to handle such situations professionally with focus on the investigation and the operations' objectives. Rapid technological development in society is a particular challenge for this activity, and it also requires your interest in following, understanding, and utilizing this development. Travel occurs both within the region and nationally, sometimes with short notice, which requires flexibility. Qualifications This is an opportunity for you who have: Post-secondary education primarily in IT forensics/information security, or alternatively other education or work experience that the employer deems relevant for the position Very good IT skills in commonly used hardware, operating systems, and networks that the employer deems relevant Very good knowledge of Swedish in speech and writing Good knowledge of English in speech and writing Class B driver's license Swedish citizenship It is meritorious if you also have: Current work experience in the IT industry that the employer deems relevant for the position Experience with Linux and/or macOS operating systems Experience with programming languages, preferably Python, but other programming languages may also be relevant Experience with database work such as SQLite Experience with IT forensic tools Experience in gathering, analyzing, and compiling information Work experience in crime prevention and/or crime prevention activities, with experience from the police authority being prioritized Experience handling classified information and material that may be perceived as disturbing Personal Qualities We are seeking you as someone who is meticulous, structured, and analytical—you see patterns and connections in complex information.
