Do you want to help create the digital conditions for the welfare of the future? Then we have the job for you. Your new job We are seeking an IT Architect for Highland's IT. As an IT Architect, you will have the opportunity to influence digital development for several municipalities, companies, and associations. Through long-term technology choices, sustainable architectures, and digital transformation, you contribute to creating conditions for the municipalities to meet future welfare challenges. You will become part of our architecture function and work on developing the digital capabilities required for future municipal operations. Here you have the opportunity to influence how the future IT environment should be designed within areas such as data and information management, AI and automation, integrations and APIs, identity and access, digital infrastructure, cloud services, and security. The role can be shaped based on your strengths and areas of interest, while you are given the opportunity to develop within new parts of the architecture field and contribute to the continued development of our architecture function, our working methods, and how architecture is used as a tool for governance and development within our Highland collaboration. You will work closely with operations, project managers, specialists, and vendors. The role spans both strategic and operational perspectives where you analyze the current state and target state, develop target architectures, architecture principles, and support our collaboration in strategic and technical decisions. You contribute to ensuring that new solutions work together over time and that investments in technology support the business needs in an efficient and sustainable way. An important part of the work is to contribute to procurements where architecture, decisions, and requirements are translated into practice and contribute to digital development in the years ahead. We do not build IT for IT's sake. We build the conditions for public services such as education, healthcare and care, water and wastewater, and the future's digital welfare. This means that your work has a direct impact on multiple operations and thousands of users and residents every day. About you We are looking for you who have several years of experience with qualified work within IT and who are accustomed to working at the intersection of operations, technology, and strategy. You have higher education in IT or work experience that the employer considers equivalent. You have experience with architecture work, digitalization, and complex IT environments where you have contributed to long-term decisions and sustainable solutions. For example, you may have worked as an IT Architect, Solutions Architect, Business Architect, or in another senior specialist role. To succeed in this role, you need to be able to take a step back and see the bigger picture while having an understanding of technical details. You have the ability to analyze complex issues, identify connections, and translate them into concrete recommendations and decisions. We believe you thrive in a role where you influence through dialogue, collaboration, and trust rather than through formal authority. You are curious, humble, and enjoy working with others to find solutions that work in practice. You are comfortable leading workshops, facilitating discussions, and presenting complex issues to different audiences. You find it easy to build relationships and create alignment between operations, technology, projects, and vendors. For us, drive, collaboration skills, analytical abilities, and the desire to contribute to the whole are at least as important as experience from a specific technology area. About us Highland's IT is the IT services provider for the Highland municipalities. The municipalities on the highland are facing a transformative and exciting journey toward the digital service society. In this, Highland's IT is an important player. We deliver reliable IT services daily to approximately 32,000 users in various municipal sectors such as education, healthcare and care, culture and leisure, property, construction, and water and wastewater. Our IT environment is one of the largest and most challenging in the region, with an extensive number of units and infrastructure components.
